Check the store

You decide to check out the store first. It's a small building adjacent to the town square. Outside crates with fruit and vegetables are on display, prizes listed in a currency you're not familiar with.

The inside has a surprising variety of goods. Various foods in the front, tools, utensils, and other practical things along the right side of the store, and clothes on the opposite wall. It is not exactly luxurious, but the store seems to be doing good business. Most likely this general store supplies the entire village and surrounding farms.

You look the goods over, but nothing particularly catches your eye and seeing as you have no money to spend anyway it doesn't matter much. As Tia is looking over some of the clothes, you walk up to the counter at the back of the store and ring the bell. Not much later a skinny older looking man comes out of the back and greets you.

"What can I do for you young folks?"

"Hi, we're trying to get to Cleartide and we were wondering if you had information on anyone traveling that way."

"Ah, adventurers huh? A dangerous path...

Again someone thinks I'm an adventurer, this spear must really give off that vibe. I don't really want to be known as an adventurer, feel like that might just attract trouble.

"No no, just trying to find my way. Anyway, can you help us?"

"If you say so. Well, we can all use some help now and again... I don't have anything for you right now, but I'll keep a look out alright?"

Talking about vibes, this man is giving off a weird one. He seems like he might know more than he's letting on. Regardless, he's being friendly for now.

"Thanks, we'll check back later."

And with that, you head back into the square.
