Chapter 1408 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Check back in on Front B.

The fight continues. As more threats emerge and the intensity grows, however, you notice that your party is far from invincible. People are being bruised and cut, and they're starting to run out of energy. You can't keep this up forever, and your hope is that Elok can't either. He has to have a finite amount of units, and on top of that, you believe in Vivi, and the Circle. Once you're able to get downstairs, you can summon your main party and go right for the head. You need to do this quickly, not only because you feel as if you're going to soon drown in copper, but because you don't want to give Elok or Breiah the chance to flee.

Though it's difficult, you focus your mind on scrying while simultaneously driving Lauo through as many foes as you can. It's vital that you manage this **** properly, so you need to know what's happening in Avana. You don't have much time, so you do this as swiftly as possible.

Your mind shifts to one particular street, where Fang is cutting gremlins apart with her daggers. She stands with one arm out, protecting an innocent mother and her child. The small, opened white coat she wears has been torn, and not only has she lost one of her fingerless gloves, but there's a wound up the back of her hand. Still, she fights the threat ahead--a loose bugbear flailing a hefty club in her direction.

To make matters worst, behind her are a bunch of goblins, as well as an ogre that managed to get by, though not without being covered in arrows.

"Don't worry," she says. "Claw Patrol is here to save you."

"Wh-What's happening? Why would someone do this?" sobs the mother.

"A really bad, pathetic man is about to get his ass kicked by a real man, and then we'll be safe, but until then, we'll fight," she says with a grin.

"Look out!"

Just before the bugbear can follow through with his attack, two swords are driven into his body. After he falls, two bruised men appear behind him. One of them speaks up with a tear-filled smile. "Fang, it's really you!"

Recognizing them as some of her posse back before she left Avana, she throws her arms into the air with excitement. "I told you Claw Patrol was here!" she cheers.

"There are just too many though, boss. What do we do?"

"Fight, obviously."

"Yeah, idiot," the other man says.

He laughs. "You're right. I don't know why I even asked."

The three hold their ground, but the man wasn't joking. There really are too many.

A gremlin suddenly darts from the nearby rooftop straight towards the trio. Fang unleashes one of her daggers, piercing it out of the air with incredible expertise, right before flipping over the goblin sprinting in her direction. She withdraws another blade, and hurls it into his back. She slides under the legs of the ogre, and drives two daggers into his back, though is quickly **** to tumble backwards as the beast turns to face her.

Several innocent commoners come running down the road. "We're free, we're free!"

Fang turns to watch.

One of them says, "She took out like a hundred of them!"

Another replies, "It was more like a dozen, but still."

Just then, the second Fang looks back to the ogre, a foot has already cracked his neck. After the second blow, and especially after the third which involved a quarterstaff caving in his skull, the arrow-littered ogre falls to the ground with a booming thud. Perched upon his back is a woman clad in emerald spandex with brown hair that billows beautifully in the breeze. She grips her quarterstaff beneath her arm, and with a mask covering her eyes, she peers at the mother and her child through slits for her eyes.

The child's face turns from fear to excitement. His lips curl into an incredible smile. "R-Rabbit's Foot!" he screams with joy.

"Hell yeah it is!" Fang shouts. "Looking hot!"

"A-And heroic, right?" Lalarin replies under her breath.

"Hot and heroic, like always. Let's kick some ass, RF. A team-up they'll write comics about."

"Fang and Rabbit's Foot, Issue One." She giggles as she hops down from the body.

"We can go with Rabbit's Foot and Fang. I kinda like the idea of you taking control."

"What?"

When they both hear a scream nearby, they run off to save the next. From what you can tell, everyone in your party is gradually making their way to Dragonhide Manor, but it isn't enough. They've successfully lowered the numbers, but you need them in the tunnel as quickly as possible for a few different reasons: To be ready for the final attack. To make sure Shadow Garden doesn't face too many foes. To get everyone together in one place for their own safety.

One by one, you tell them this. By the time you're done, you're growing rather exhausted, at least mentally. You feel as if you can physically still fight at your full potential. The threats you've faced directly haven't been all that taxing, and you've only cast a single spell. But the strain this scrying does to your mind is proving to be a bit much.

What do you do?
