Chasing the cat

"Whiskers!" Keira whispered harshly.

She was scared to alert any of her neighbors, who could at any moment pop out of their doors and see her. As soon as she was around the corner and out of sight of the delivery driver she hurried after her cat, who seemed to be enjoying leading her on a merry chase. Keira felt the carpet under her bare feet. Tugging down on her shirt, she finally cornered her cat in a dead end.

"Come on Whiskers, you're coming with me!" She reached to grab the cat...
