However, they were suddenly taken aback when a deep, resonant rumble echoed through the labyrinth.
The walls seemed to tremble with each sound as if something massive was stirring from the depths.
Yuki froze, her laughter dying on her lips as her ears caught the noise's rhythmic, almost deliberate pattern.
It wasn’t just random vibrations—it felt purposeful, like the heavy, measured steps of a colossal being.
“What… what is that?” Yuki whispered, her voice edged with worry as she glanced nervously at Venetia.
Venetia, still catching her breath from the fight with the mimic, turned sharply toward the direction of the sound.
Her brow furrowed as she tried to steady her breathing, the torch in her hand trembling slightly as its glow flickered against the shadowed walls.
The rumbling grew louder, reverberating and sending faint tremors across the ground.
It was rhythmic—like a heartbeat or the steady pounding of giant footsteps.
“I don’t know,” Venetia muttered, her voice low and strained as she scanned their surroundings.
Her hand instinctively tightened around the torch, the flame casting long, shifting shadows that danced ominously along the corridor. “But whatever it is… it’s heading this way.”
The rhythmic pounding shook loose bits of stone and dust from the ceiling.
Yuki flinched as small pebbles clattered to the ground near her feet.
The sound was growing closer, the vibrations making it feel as though the entire labyrinth was alive, its very structure groaning under the weight of something immense.
Yuki swallowed hard, gripping the hilt of her weapon as her knuckles whitened. “This can’t be good,” she muttered, stepping closer to Venetia as the torchlight became their only refuge in the encroaching darkness.
“We need to move,” she said urgently. “Whatever that thing is… we don’t want to be standing here when it gets to us,” said Venetia with a hushed Voice.
Yuki nodded quickly, her instincts screaming at her to run. “Right. Let’s go.”
But before they could take another step, the rhythmic pounding stopped—suddenly and completely.
The abrupt silence was deafening, and the absence of the sound made their breaths feel unnaturally loud in the stillness.
With a sudden, deafening boom, the walls of the labyrinth trembled violently before collapsing inward.
Chunks of stone and dust exploded into the air, creating a blinding cloud that filled the corridor.
Yuki and Venetia stumbled, shielding their faces from the onslaught of debris as the sound echoed through the endless passages like a thunderclap.
“What the hell?!” Yuki yelled, her voice barely audible over the chaos.
She coughed, trying to wave the dust away from her face, but the air was thick and heavy with grit.
Venetia squinted through the haze, her heart pounding as she raised the torch high. The flame flickered then faded, struggling to stay alive amid the rush of air and falling rubble.
“Something’s forcing its way through!” she shouted, her voice sharp with urgency.
From the crumbled remains of the labyrinth wall, a massive shape began to emerge, its silhouette hazy and indistinct through the swirling dust.
The rhythmic pounding they had heard earlier now made sense—it wasn’t just footsteps; it was the relentless approach of something monstrous.
A guttural roar erupted from the direction of the breach, shaking the very ground beneath their feet.
The sound was primal and raw, filled with a fury that sent chills racing down their spines.
Yuki grabbed Venetia’s arm, her grip tight with panic. “We need to go! Now!”
Venetia hesitated for only a moment, her eyes locked on the shadowed figure pushing through the wreckage.
Her blood ran cold as realization struck her.
The Minotaur emerged fully from the collapsed wall, an unrelenting juggernaut of raw power and primal fury.
Standing nearly three times the height of a man, its massive frame dominated the narrow corridor.
It was a little to big for the Labyrinth itself, slightly hunched over ,its back scratching the ceiling.
Its horns, jagged and uneven, curved upward like a crown of destruction.
The Minotaur's face was a grotesque mix of beast and man—a wide snout with flared nostrils exhaling clouds of hot air, its breath steaming in the cool, stale air of the labyrinth.
Its burning eyes, fiery orbs set deep into its face, radiated a predator’s hatred.
The creature's hands were gargantuan, capable of rending stone as easily as flesh.
Its arms were as thick as tree trunks, and the veins that ran along them pulsed every second.
Its chest rose and fell with each guttural snarl, the sound reverberating through the corridors like distant thunder.
The Minotaur’s legs, thick and sinewy, ended in hooves that cracked the stone floor with each step, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
A long, whip-like tail lashed behind it, creating sharps sound when it whipped around.
The air around the creature seemed to hum with its presence, oppressive and suffocating, as though the labyrinth itself bent to its will.
The beast carried only a large two-handed axe.
As it roared, the sound was a chilling combination of animalistic rage and unearthly resonance, shaking the very foundations of the labyrinth. Dust and loose debris rained down from above, and its fiery eyes locked onto Venetia and Yuki with a predatory hunger that promised only one thing—destruction.
The creature stepped fully into view, its massive frame towering over it. Its body was a fusion of raw muscle and thick, stone-like hide, its horns curving menacingly as it tilted its head toward them. The beast’s glowing eyes locked onto the pair, filled with an unrelenting, animalistic rage.
The Minotaur let out another earth-shattering roar, raising one massive fist before slamming it into the ground.
The impact sent shockwaves through the corridor, causing cracks to spiderweb along the floor beneath their feet.
“Run!” Venetia screamed, gripping Yuki’s hand as she yanked her backward.
The two of them bolted down the labyrinth’s twisting halls, their hearts racing as the Minotaur’s heavy footsteps thundered behind them.
Each step it took shook the ground, and its guttural growls echoed like a predator closing in on its prey.
Yuki glanced over her shoulder, her eyes wide with terror. “How the hell do we fight that thing?!”
“We don’t!” Venetia shouted, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she pushed herself to run faster.
The Minotaur let out an earth-shaking bellow as it lunged forward, its massive body scraping against the narrow confines of the labyrinth.
Its jagged horns gouged deep scars into the walls,. The creature’s hooves thundered against the ground.
Its glowing eyes burned with relentless fury, locked onto its prey as it barreled forward like a runaway boulder.
The confined space seemed too small to contain the monster, but that didn’t stop it
Yuki and Venetia sprinted down the labyrinthine corridor, the air around them thick with the echoes of the Minotaur's enraged bellows.
Behind them, the Minotaur plowed through the passage like a living battering ram.
Its hooves struck the ground with such **** that the very floor seemed to ripple, sending cracks spidering outward.
Venetia glanced over her shoulder, her heart pounding like a war drum.
The sight was nothing short of terrifying.
The Minotaur’s muscular form was barely contained by the labyrinth’s tight confines, and yet it pressed forward with relentless determination.
Its glowing red eyes locked onto them, radiating primal rage and an unrelenting hunger for the kill. “It’s not stopping!” she shouted, her voice cracking with exertion.
Yuki didn’t dare look back. “I don’t need to see it to know it’s still there!” she yelled, leaping over a jagged piece of fallen stone.
Her quick reflexes kept her nimble despite the uneven terrain, but the constant thunder of hooves behind her made her stomach churn.
“What’s the plan? We can’t outrun this thing forever!”
“I don't know!” Venetia replied, her voice strained. Sweat dripped down her face, stinging her eyes, but she kept running, her mind racing for a solution.
The labyrinth twisted and turned, offering no reprieve.
Every time they rounded a corner, Venetia’s heart sank, expecting a dead end that would seal their fate.
Instead, the labyrinth stretched on, almost mocking them with its unrelenting twists.
The Minotaur, undeterred by the maze’s constraints, used brute **** to push through the narrow passages.
Ahead of them, the labyrinth forked into two paths
“Left!” Venetia shouted as they reached a fork in the path. Without hesitation, they veered into the passage.
The Minotaur barreled after them, its massive frame quickly charging direction, its Axe scrapping the Floor.
Yuki dared a glance back, her eyes widening as she saw the creature’s raw power on full display.
“It’s breaking through!” Yuki cried, her voice laced with panic. “What kind of monster is this thing?”
Venetia clenched her teeth, her mind racing. “Keep moving! We just need to get ahead enough to find a better spot!
As they sprinted down the corridor, Yuki and Venetia found themselves gaining a small lead on the relentless Minotaur.
The monster's guttural roars echoed behind them, each one filled with growing rage as it trampled through the confined labyrinth, leaving destruction in its wake.
As they pushed forward, Yuki’s sharp eyes caught something glimmering - an almost invisible string stretched across the corridor.
Her instincts kicked in. “Watch out!” she shouted, vaulting over the tripwire in one smooth motion.
Venetia, following closely, mimicked her movement.
She leaped over the wire effortlessly but landed with an idea forming in her mind. Her eyes darted back to the approaching Minotaur, and a sharp grin broke across her face.
“Keep running!” Venetia called to Yuki, spinning on her heel for just a moment.
“What are you—?” Yuki began but stopped herself, trusting Venetia had something planned.
The Minotaur charged forward, oblivious to the trap as its hulking form barreled down the corridor.
Its horns scraped the walls, and its heavy breathing sounded like a storm, growing louder with every passing second.
Venetia steadied herself, holding her torch high in one hand as the other channeled her magic.
The wind began to spiral around her, and with a sharp motion, she sent a slicing wind scythe hurtling toward the tripwire.
The thin string snapped instantly, triggering the trap with a loud clunk. Hidden mechanisms roared to life, and from the walls on either side, two massive axes swung out, their blades gleaming as they raced toward the Minotaur.
The Minotaur barely had time to react.
Its eyes widened as the blades came hurtling toward its massive frame.
It stopped itself right before it was to crash into the Axes and saw them swing around in the Air,missing it by an Hair.
With a furious bellow, the Minotaur raised its enormous double-handed axe and brought it crashing down with incredible ****.
Sparks flew as the creature's axe collided with the swinging blades, stopping them in mid-air.
The sound of metal splintering echoed throughout the labyrinth, the **** of the impact shaking the walls.
Dust and fragments of stone fell from the ceiling as the Minotaur turned its fiery red gaze back toward Venetia and Yuki, unscathed and now angrier than ever.
Venetia’s breath caught in her throat as the Minotaur glared at them with dangerous intensity.
The sheer power it had displayed sent a chill down her spine, but she refused to falter. “Well, that didn’t slow it down as much as I hoped,” she muttered under her breath.
The Minotaur let out a deafening roar, brandishing its massive axe and stomping forward with renewed fury.
Yuki skidded to a stop beside Venetia, panic and determination warring in her expression.
“Please tell me you’ve got another trick up your sleeve!” she hissed, gripping Venetia’s arm to pull her into motion again.
As they sprinted into another corridor, Venetia slowed for a moment, her eyes darting to the ground.
Ash coated the stone floor, and the faint outline of an extinguished torch lay discarded nearby.
Beside it, a dark, jagged hole gaped in the wall, leading into what appeared to be another section of the labyrinth.
"Wait," Venetia said, coming to a halt. She frowned, her mind racing. "Did we just run in a circle?"
Yuki, her breaths coming quick and shallow, glanced over her shoulder.
The Minotaur's thundering steps were drawing nearer, each one accompanied by a low growl that reverberated through the corridors.
The ground trembled slightly under its immense weight.
"If we keep running like this," Yuki said, her voice trembling, "it’s only a matter of time before it catches us."
Her hands clenched into fists as she scanned their surroundings, desperation flashing in her eyes.
The ash on the ground, the faintly flickering torchlight behind them, the ominous roar of the monster closing in—all of it pushed her to think faster.
And then, as her gaze fell on the dark hole in the wall, an idea sparked in her mind.
"Follow me!" Yuki shouted, her tone suddenly firm and commanding. Without hesitation, she darted toward the opening.
Venetia blinked, startled by Yuki’s sudden resolve. “What? Into there? Are you crazy?” she called, but Yuki was already slipping into the shadowy hole.
The Minotaur’s roar was now deafening, the sound of its axe scraping against the stone walls making Venetia’s heart pound in her chest.
Gritting her teeth, she had **** but to follow.
