Charlotte and Her Time Machine

Charlotte is a gorgeous 25-year-old woman with long, wavy raven hair, dark brown eyes, and a slender figure. Charlotte had a friend in her mid-to-late 40s named Elizabeth, who was also a great scientist. One morning, Elizabeth visited Charlotte's home early. Charlotte opened the door in business-casual clothes, clearly getting ready for work.

"Hey Liz, what are you doing here so early?" Charlotte asked, noticing that Elizabeth was visibly stressed and in a hurry. Elizabeth was still in her lab coat, her brown hair frizzy and messy as usual, with streaks of grey, and she had bags under her eyes as if she hadn't slept all day.

"No time to explain, Charlotte!" Elizabeth exclaimed, "No one can know about this! They're after me!"

"Wait, what?" Charlotte asked, starting to get nervous, "Who's after you?"

"I can't tell you for your own safety! I need you to take this," Elizabeth said, forcibly placing a device in her hand.

"What?" Charlotte exclaimed, "What if they come after me? Liz, this is crazy! What's so important about this?" You looked at the device; it looked like an old watch. The screen read the 'time' and 'date'.

"Don't worry, they won't know anything about you since we're not related in any way. What you're holding there is a time machine!" Elizabeth explained.

"A time machine?" Charlotte repeated.

"That's right! I need you to hold on to it for me before they think I've never created it. If they get their hands on this, who knows what they will do with it!" Elizabeth explained in a frantic tone.

Charlotte was lost and confused. How could this be a time machine? Sure, she's seen it in movies many times, but the thought of it seems impossible.

"I have to go before they catch me here! You've got to hide that thing or else!" Elizabeth ran without saying goodbye.

"Wait, this is a joke, right?" Charlotte called out, but Elizabeth was gone.

"She's joking, right? There's no way, " she said before she shut the door.

She looked at the watch carefully, noticing there were two yellow buttons on the right side and one huge red button on the left. She fiddled with the yellow buttons and noticed the date and time changing.

'Okay, that just changes the time, I guess," she thought.

Then she looked at the huge red button. Curiously, she pushed the red button to see what it did.

Nothing...

Charlotte thought it was just a joke, but then her body felt like it was floating off the ground. Suddenly, a burst of light erupted from her body!!!

"Wait, what the???" Charlotte panicked as her whole body flashed with a beam of blue light before she vanished into thin air. Her business-casual outfit... now lying on the floor... where she once stood...
