Character Information
Isabella Reyes Nakamura - the daughter of Julián Reyes, former Presidente and dictator of Montesoro, and his wife Emiko Nakamura. After his premature **** at the hands of communist guerillas, she ascended to power as the interim-Presidente at the age of 18. She has long black hair and almond-shaped, dark brown eyes. She is athletic and statuesque, standing tall at about 5’7”, with a tanned olive complexion.
A child of immense privilege, Isabella was born into the corridors of the Palacio del Sol, Montesoro’s presidential palace. She was schooled in languages and diplomacy, dreaming of one day representing the small island nation on the international stage. But the weight of leadership was not something she could escape. Montesoro, divided and bleeding, now looked to its young leader for salvation—or ****. Isabella was untested, uncertain, and terrified. Her father's legacy hung over her like a storm cloud. Could she maintain his iron grip, or would she steer Montesoro down a different path, one less soaked in blood?
Julián Reyes - The Iron Fist of Montesoro. Julián Reyes was a man forged in the fires of hardship. Born in the slums of Valverde, Montesoro’s capital, his early years were marked by poverty, hunger, and a burning resentment for the elites who thrived while others starved. A natural leader and a brilliant tactician, Julián joined the military as a young man, seeing it as his only path to escape destitution.
He rose quickly through the ranks, earning a reputation for ruthlessness and unyielding discipline. By the late 1950s, Montesoro was in chaos, torn apart by political instability and economic collapse. Sensing an opportunity, Julián led a coup in 1960, toppling the fragile democratic government and establishing himself as El Presidente.
Under his rule, Montesoro underwent sweeping modernization. Infrastructure projects connected remote regions, the economy grew through resource extraction, and the capital transformed into a gleaming symbol of progress. But this progress came at a steep cost. Political dissent was crushed, opposition leaders disappeared, and fear became the currency of control.
Emiko Nakamura - The Bridge Between Power and Wealth. Born into a family of Japanese industrialists that has seen their fortunes decline after the devastation of World War II. Her family relocated to resource rich yet underdeveloped Montesoro in the early 1950s, where her father rebuilt his business empire in the growing mining and industrial sectors. By the time Emiko was a young woman, the Nakamura family had become one of the wealthiest and most influential forces in Montesoro’s emerging oligarchy.
In the early days of his regime, Julián recognized that consolidating power required more than just military control—it demanded economic stability and the backing of Montesoro’s oligarchs. To secure the Nakamura family's allegiance, Julián proposed an alliance that went beyond politics: a marriage between himself and Emiko.
Shortly after Isabella's birth, a rift appeared between her parents. Emiko saw the brutal direction Julián was bringing Montesoro towards, and sought to curb his cruel policies. Eventually, he grew tired of her meddling and with the oligarchs firmly in control, banished her to the fringe city of Palmaria, where the Reyes summer palace was located She has since stayed out of the public eye, only contacting Isabella on special occasions.
Montesoro - The Jewel of the Atlantic. Montesoro is a fictional island nation located off the coast of South America, surrounded by the vast, tumultuous waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The island is known for its breathtaking diversity, from dense, tropical rainforests in the east to arid, rocky deserts in the west. Towering mountains run through the center of the island, rich in minerals like gold, copper, and silver, while lush coastal plains and fertile valleys support agriculture and small rural communities. The capital city, Valverde, lies along the coast, a bustling hub of trade and industry, while the rest of the island remains marked by stark divisions between the elite—who control the wealth generated by the island’s resources—and the impoverished masses, many of whom have taken to the jungles and mountains to resist the brutal authoritarian regime. Montesoro’s complex geography and resources have made it a strategic prize, but its political instability and deep social fractures leave its future in question.
