Chapter 5: The Collar is Made

Chapter 7 by NudeBare NudeBare

Six months after the discussion. Keith and Heather have talked, researched, and planned. They've started including Tonya in the conversation, tentatively at first, then more openly. Heather knows what she wants, and Keith has agreed to help her get it.

The jeweler's shop was small and discreet, tucked away on a quiet street where no one would ask questions. Heather had chosen it carefully, reading reviews, checking references, ensuring that the craftsman could make what she needed.

"What exactly did you have in mind?" the jeweler asked, a silver-haired woman with steady hands and knowing eyes.

Heather took a deep breath. "I need a collar. One that can't be removed without special tools. It has to be permanent. It has to be beautiful, but functional. It's going to be worn... for a long time."

The jeweler nodded, her expression neutral. "I've made pieces like that before. Can you tell me more about what you're looking for? Metal preference? Design? How tight do you want it?"

Heather pulled out a sketch she'd been working on for weeks, a simple but elegant design that would sit comfortably around her throat. "I was thinking something like this. Flexible metal, so it conforms to the neck. A subtle locking mechanism that doesn't show. Something that looks like jewelry, but isn't."

The jeweler studied the sketch, her eyes approving. "This is lovely. It'll be a pleasure to make."

Heather felt tears prick at her eyes. "Thank you. I've been... I've been planning this for a long time."

The jeweler smiled warmly. "I can tell. This isn't a piece you design lightly. This is a piece that means something."

"It does," Heather said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It means everything."
