Chapter 4

Intro Theme: Fireflight | Sucker Punch - Stand Up

"I have a question for you." Holly began, Sam nodded and motioned for her to continue. "Well, a lot of questions, some harders than others. Why do a lot of Christians just have belief with no action?" Holly asked.

"What do you mean by that?" Sam replied, Sam wasn't going to jump the gun and just answer blindly she wanted Holly to give her more than just a question before she answered.

"In your New Testament. . .God or Jesus or Trinity or whoever whatever, says in Matthew 28:19-20 to make disciples of all nations? Correct?"

"Yeah, it does, what about it?" Sam said.

"Is it not weird or funny that instead of doing that they like not going on missions, they just stay here in the West or in other parts of the world in comfortable lives? But your God commands or says go and make disciples of all nations yet it seems from my persepective a lot of churches think all the world is Mexico and US or even just no action at all, sit at home, go about their day, go to church do a good deed here and there."

"Well," Sam said slowly. "In my opinion a lot of of churches are asleep and are not on fire or active. They are lukewarm. Espcially in the States. You say something you get challenged not just for me and other Christians. If you have a different belief and say something you get challenged and called out. So my theory is that alot of people can be silent and are not willing to take action because they are afraid or just honestly maybe not believers. Again this is not everywhere or for each church but for some."

"Yeah, I see that," Holly said taking now poke at Sam and her beliefs. "You should go and evangelize, right? Because you know I am techincally going to your hell shouldn't you pray for me?"

"I do," Sam replied.

Holly was silent for a second. "Thank you but that's beside the point."

"I tend to see a lot of Christians not going out changing the world. Instead if they try to they become part of the world. Also, if not doing that, they hangout in their protective bubble of fellow believers never changing, never seeing things differently, and never be willing to try to reach people like me or others. Which saddens me I guess a bit. They just stay around fellow believers in their 'safe' communities patting each other on the back. Saying the world is so blah, blah, blah, bad, don't do this, oh, you did that! Let's all pray for you brother or sister!"

"Why does it saddens you?" Sam questioned.

"Because, I think if they were actually serious and if they actually cared I think or I would imagine they would pray for me and other non-believers daily but also beg us to believe or do anything they can each day to make me see that their or your God exists. But many don't do that. So when I think of Christians I think they are fakers. Expect. . .for you. . .Sam."

"Uuhhh, thanks."

"But what I am getting at is. They fall into a secular mindset. Despite them trying to protect themselves. Jesus in your Bible didn't promise a comfort life of rainbows and protection spells. He said it would be hard and even if one person would believe then it would be worth it your life trying to evangelize?"

"So you are saying you wish more people were like that?"

"Yeah I would imagine if they are serious about their belief in God they would do that."

"There are many factors why people hangout with others that share common interests. Likeminded people. Easier to make friends but I do see you point and I think it's valid but I also think humans are really complicated. Emotions, thoughts, ideas, poltical ideals, and everything. No one is perfect. There are probably some of my brothers and sisters in Christ who are like that though but probably in other parts of the world. There are probably some non-believer that probably are like that too I don't know for sure I haven't met everyone but I wouldn't be too quick to judge or get angry that people are not acting how you think they should act or behaving or believing how you would imagine or think they would."

"That was a deep answer," Holly replied.

"That was a good question," Sam said.
