Chapter 4: Can I Have a Word?
Continued from chapter 3:
"He meant nothing!" Eve lies, her voice rising in pitch, betraying her agitation. "He was babbling like a lunatic, just like most men do when they realize they're being ignored."
She points a trembling finger toward the automatic doors.
"He was leaving a pile of rubbish and talking nonsense. If you spend half as much time checking the expiration dates on the dairy as you do eavesdropping on my conversations, maybe we wouldn't be losing money on spoiled milk."
She turns back to the empty store, her chest heaving slightly.
"Well, I never," Karen says in a huff, her hands planted firmly on her hips. "If you weren't my age and we weren't at work, I'd turn you over my knee and show you how we used a hairbrush in my house."
Chapter 4:
Eve whirls around, her ice-gray eyes flashing with a lethal combination of outrage and disbelief. The suggestion hits her like a slap, triggering every cynical instinct she possesses. She takes a menacing step toward Karen, her small stature doing nothing to diminish the sheer weight of her glare.
"You're suggesting what, Karen?" Eve's voice drops to a dangerous whisper. "Are you truly so starved for excitement that you've resorted to threatening your superior with domestic violence? Because that's exactly what this sounds like."
She lets out a sharp, jagged laugh, crossing her arms tightly over her chest.
"Turn me over your knee? Please. You couldn't handle a fraction of the discipline I run this store with. And don't you ever—ever—speak to me like that again. We are professionals."
Karen blushes a deep crimson, but doesn't back down. She maintains eye contact, her gaze steady and unflinching before she retreats, mumbling something that sounds distinctly like, "You could use a good spanking."
Eve stands frozen, watching Karen disappear into the back offices. The words hang in the stale, refrigerated air of the grocery store, echoing louder than the humming freezers. She feels exposed, stripped bare by the sheer absurdity of the situation. Her heart hammers a frantic rhythm against her ribs—a sensation she detests because it implies vulnerability.
"Get back to work, Karen!" she bellows after her, her voice cracking with a mixture of authority and wounded pride.
She waits until the sound of footsteps fades completely before she allows herself to exhale. She turns back to the counter, her eyes landing on the trash bin where the ebony brush and the silk briefs are buried beneath crumpled receipts and old produce stickers. A strange, traitorous heat prickles at the back of her neck.
She shouldn't care. But she does.
That night, I lie in bed, replaying the afternoon over and over. I close my eyes and let the fantasy consume me. I imagine sliding the panties up my legs, feeling the cool silk glide over my skin. I picture Eve standing over me, her ice-gray eyes burning with contempt and something darker—something that makes my pulse quicken.
She pulls me across her lap. Her thighs are firm beneath me, and I can feel the heat radiating from her body. She doesn't speak. She doesn't need to. The anticipation is exquisite, almost unbearable.
Her hand comes down against my panty-covered rear, the impact sharp and precise. Once. Twice. Three times. Each strike sends a jolt of electricity through me, pleasure and humiliation intertwining until I can't tell where one ends and the other begins.
Then she hooks her fingers into the waistband of the silk briefs and pulls them down slowly, deliberately, until they rest at the hollow of my knees. My bare skin is exposed, vulnerable, waiting.
The brush comes next—smooth wood, cold against the heat of my skin. She raises it, and I hold my breath.
When it falls, I cry out. The sensation is exquisite: pain and pleasure blending into something transcendent. She continues, each stroke deliberate, each one landing with perfect precision. My body responds without my permission, my arousal building with each impact until I'm trembling, gasping, completely undone.
I cum harder than I ever have in my life, my entire body convulsing with the intensity of it. I fall asleep with the fantasy still playing behind my eyes, my skin still tingling, my heart still racing.
The following Monday, rain lashes against the large plate-glass windows of Market Fresh, blurring the world outside into a grey smear. Eve stands behind the register, her movements mechanical and efficient. She has been unusually silent today, even for her. Her eyes are fixed on the computer screen, but she isn't reading the inventory reports. They stare right through the text.
Every time the automatic doors slide open, her shoulders tense. She finds herself glancing at the clock, then at the door, then back at the monitor. She tells herself it's because she expects trouble. She tells herself it's because she's waiting to see if the lunatic returns to cause more chaos.
But when the bell rings and she realizes it's just a regular customer, a surge of inexplicable frustration hits her.
I return to Market Fresh, but I ignore Eve. I know a lost cause when I see one. I'm checking out when I hear a Midwestern woman's voice call out behind me.
"Excuse me, hon, can I have a word?" she asks.
