Chapter 3

I went into the coffee shop and ordered a decaf coffee since I didn't want to stay up all night. I sat in a corner to watch my shows and do my research. After two hours of being lost in my shows and trying to forget what my life was like, I saw someone approaching. When I took off my headphones, the first thing I heard was a "Hello."

I could see the young man's face; it was as red as a tomato, or even redder. I could see he got nervous and froze for a moment. What might have been the most embarrassing moment of his life was exactly what I needed to forget my problems. I found it endearing to see him trying to think of what else to say or how to get out of that situation. And me, after being surrounded by selfish men and hungry wolves, seeing this young man made me realize that not all men are the same. So, I pushed the chair in front of me with my foot and told him to take a seat if he wanted.

Like a puppy, he sat following orders, I guess he was still nervous, so I started the conversation by asking him if he wanted something to drink, he asked for a coffee and once he calmed down we started chatting and getting to know each other.

After chatting like old friends and getting to know each other, it was 8 o'clock. Once this young man, named Alejandro, felt comfortable, he started talking about himself, and I began telling him about myself, leaving aside my work problems and my job, of course. We exchanged numbers, and as we were saying goodbye at the café, he asked me which faculty I was in and if I'd be willing to get back for another coffee. I smiled like I did back in my university days because I really enjoyed talking to him, so I agreed to meet up again.
