Chapter 2 -- Silk's lost love
"Really? Kal-El, Krypton... you know nothing about them?" the blonde asked Cindy, covering her nude form with a cape adorned with a symbol, which looked like a shield with an "S" across it.
"I've been offworld a few times, but I've never heard of a planet called Krypton or met any alien named Kal-El," Cindy answered.
Cindy had taken a trip outside the city to get away from things like this. She'd been dealing with supervillains and spider-related madness for months now, and now that she had some down time, she'd been looking forward to a much-needed break, one where she'd finally have some quiet time to herself. So much for that -- she couldn't hold back from cussing loudly when the small spacecraft cratered into a field near where she was driving. When she saw what it was carrying, however, immediately, her frustration quickly gave way to fascinated curiosity...
"I see... I've landed on the right planet, though? This is Earth?"
"That's right, but I don't know anything about who you're looking for. I *do* have a friend who might be able to help you, though."
"Well, it's a start. I appreciate your help, Miss--"
"Moon. My name's Cindy Moon. Just call me Cindy from now on," Cindy said, extending her hand. Seeing the blonde, holding the cape covering her naked body... Cindy felt an overwhelming attraction to her, and while the woman was undeniably gorgeous, somehow Cindy felt the attraction went beyond that. She couldn't quite put her finger on what it was, though.
The blonde smiled and shook Cindy's hand. "Kara Zor-El of Krypton."
"I've seen the cape before," Peter told the two women. "I've worked with a guy named Superman a few times before. Really good dude. He wore a cape just like this."
"That must be Kal!" Kara exclaimed. "That's my cousin! Do you have any idea where he might be?!"
"Yeah, well here's the thing... Superman, at least the one I worked with, was from another universe. I've never met a Superman from this universe, and I've teamed up with a *lot* of different people. Furthermore, there's no planet named Krypton in the known universe..."
"Are you saying Kara's from a different universe?" Cindy asked.
"I don't know for sure, but I think so," Peter theorized. "And I don't know how we get her back there. I've done some interdimensional travel and it gets *really* complicated, especially if we can't pinpoint the universe Kara came from."
A look of shock crossed Kara's face. "This... isn't my universe?"
Cindy placed a hand on her shoulder. "We'll keep looking for your home, Kara. And in the meantime, we'll find a place for you here."
"...So how was your first day at ESU?" Cindy asked as Kara arrived home at the apartment the two now shared. Cindy hadn't expected or wanted a sudden roommate, but she and Kara had gotten along well and developed a very close friendship over the past few months.
"Not bad. It's a little frustrating starting over, y'know? I was a junior at my university back home, and none of the universities here accept credits from universities on other planets in alternate realities."
Peter had pulled some strings to get Kara into ESU as a student, going by the alias Kara Danvers. Kara aced the interview, thoroughly impressing the school's head of admission to the point he offered her a scholarship; while Peter had also offered to request that the university give her a room in the campus dorms, Kara declined, feeling much more comfortable living with Cindy.
"That's too bad. But hey, you get the whole freshman experience again, right? That's always fun," Cindy pointed out.
"I guess. I've been invited to something like fifty different parties already. But honestly, I'd rather just hang out with you."
A small smile crossed Cindy's face. "It's really great to hear that, Kara. I have kind of a hard time making friends... so what're you up to tonight? Wanna watch a movie?"
Kara felt a little warmer after Cindy's response -- Cindy had quickly become her best friend, and she'd opened up to Kara about her strict upbringing and being alone most of her life. Helping draw her out of her shell was such an amazing feeling for the Kryptonian. "Well, I *did* get invited to a party they hold every year on campus... apparently it's supposed to be nuts -- I'm sure I could get you in. I'd much prefer the movie though."
"Great! You pick something out, I'll get us some popcorn."
"It's over, Kasady. You're not going anywhere..."
"Haw haw! The bargain-basement spiders think they can take me in? You ain't shit, lady. You and yer little buddy there."
"You really don't know us that well, do you?" asked Miles. She and Silk had quickly cornered Carnage, who had escaped the Raft after reuniting with his symbiote, and was now attempting to shake his pursuers. Determined to take him down before he could hurt anyone, Miles and Cindy prepared themselves for a brutal, and likely bloody battle.
"Don't need to. Yer just a kid Spider, and that lady there sure as shit ain't no Venom. Don't matter anyway, I'll be chowin' on yer intestines soon enough."
Carnage lunged at Cindy, long claws protruding from his hands. Cindy was quick to dodge his strikes, which were doing some serious damage to anything they struck. Cindy formed claws out of her webbing and gouged at Carnage's eyes, causing the killer to yelp in agony.
"Dammit! I'm gonna gut ya slow now, bitch..."
Carnage was so focused on Cindy he completely forgot about Miles, who uncloaked and hit Kasady with an fully charged venom punch. Miles usually didn't hit anyone with that much electricity, but with Carnage, he knew he couldn't afford to hold back.
"Aggggghhhh... gonna make ya both watch as I pull yer guts out..."
Carnage hit both Cindy and Miles with tendrils extending from his back, knocking them both down. Staggered, both heroes stumbled to their feet as they tried to get their bearings.
"Cindy...?"
Cindy, Miles and Kasady all turned to see Kara, who had found them in an alley as she was looking for her friend, worried after hearing she'd been chasing the brutal and violent Cletus Kasady and his symbiote. Cindy looked at her best friend, terrified at what Carnage was going to do next.
"Get out of here, Kara! Now!" Cindy yelled.
"Haw haw! Sounds like the girl here means somethin' to ya, Spider-Lady. You watchin' is gonna make it real fun to cut her throat open..."
"No!" Cindy screamed as Carnage fired spiked projectiles at Kara... only to find that the bullet-like objects didn't even scratch the Kryptonian.
"What the hell...?"
"He didn't even scratch you...?" Cindy asked, her eyes wide with surprise.
"Yeah. Sorry I didn't tell you earlier," Kara apologized. "But after you told me about your powers, I figured you deserved to know about my... abilities."
"Don't worry about it... but now I gotta know, what else can you do?" Cindy wondered.
"Well, for one thing, I'm really, *really* strong. Let me show you a little trick I learned from watching video of the Hulk..." Kara boasted, clapping her hands together and creating a sonic boom that ripped the Carnage symbiote from Cletus Kasady's body.
"OK, that was cool," Cindy said as Miles quickly webbed up the symbiote before it could reattach itself to Kasady. Meanwhile, Cindy webbed Kasady to the side of a building, preventing him from escaping.
"You never told me you have a bulletproof friend," Miles said to Cindy.
"I didn't know either. Kara, this is Miles," Cindy told Kara, introducing the two.
Miles extended his hand, which Kara shook "Good to meet you, Kara."
"Likewise, Miles. So, how many Spider-People are there around here?"
"I don't know myself. Seems like there's a new one around every corner," Miles observed.
"So... what other powers do you have?" Cindy wondered.
"...You're sure you want to do this...?" Kara asked as she lay on top of Cindy, both women naked on Cindy's bed.
"For the hundreth time, yes," Cindy said, a look of serious desire in her eyes. "I've wanted this for months."
Kara kissed Cindy again. "So have I." The kisses were getting more intense, and the two women were becoming bolder in exploring each other's body. After a few minutes of making out, Kara slid down Cindy's body, positioning her head between the dark-haired woman's legs. She gently kissed Cindy's thighs and the area around her awaiting pussy before enthusiastically sliding her tongue inside. Feeling a tongue inside her for the first time, Cindy's mind was spinning as she began moaning. She arched her back as her muscles tensed, closing her eyes and letting the orgasm build inside her.
When Kara's tongue slid into Cindy's tunnel for the first time, she knew she was addicted. Hearing Cindy's satisfied moans made her pussy taste that much sweeter, and she began to let her tongue explore more, eager to make the new experience as pleasurable as possible for her new lover. Soon, Cindy couldn't take any more, and she began to gush, her essence spilling onto Kara's tongue and into her mouth; Kara took in as much as she could, knowing that as much as she tasted it still wouldn't be enough. Kara slid her tongue out of Cindy's still leaking entrance, and cuddled up to her. The pair looked at one another affectionately, taking in the experience.
"That. Was. Incredible." Cindy panted as Kara nuzzled her neck. "You think we should do that every night?"
"And every morning," Kara added. "And every afternoon. Pretty much whenever we can."
"Fine by me," Cindy grinned, delighted kissing her new lover before rolling on top of her and pinning her arms down.
"You're trying to pin me down? You know I'd have no trouble getting free, right?" Kara said with a coy smile.
"I don't see you trying to escape," Cindy noted.
"I never said I wanted to," Kara shot back.
"Good. Because I owe you after what you just did," Cindy said, kissing Kara eagerly before she began planting kisses on her way down between Kara's thighs. Kara closed her eyes and let her new lover take things from there...
Kara and Cindy lay in each other's arms, their hands gently tracing one another's bodies. Since that wonderful night just over a year ago, the pair had spent every blissful night together, discovering passions and lusts they never knew they had.
"So... do you ever miss your own universe?" asked Cindy as she nuzzled Kara's neck.
"Mmmmm... I think about it sometimes. I wonder about my universe's Earth and what happened to Kal-El. But I can't say I miss it," Kara answered.
"You don't?"
"There's not much for me to miss," explained Kara. "Krypton -- my home -- is gone. Everything--everyone I ever loved was there. I've made a new home here, and everyone I love is here. Right here with me."
Cindy's heart fluttered as she instantly realized what Kara meant. She thought back to finding that spaceship in that field, and the woman inside -- at the time, her head told her to contact someone like the Avengers or the Fantastic Four and let them handle it. But something about the woman drew Cindy to her... and she decided to open the pod and speak to the woman herself. And it ended up being the best decision of her life.
"I love you too," Cindy replied softly. Kara felt her own heart flutter, hearing the words she'd been yearning to hear since their first conversation. She may not have been in her original universe, but that didn't matter. Her home was wherever Cindy was.
"Kara! NO!" Cindy screamed as Kara soared into the portal, carrying Dr. Octopus with her. Olivia Octavius, a brilliant scientist, had built a portal generator with the intentions of summoning monsters from another universe called parademons she intended to control; Cindy and Kara had tracked her down on behalf of SHIELD with the intentions of apprehending her and destroying the generator. During the ensuing fight, Octavius had found an opening, one of her metal tentacles flying towards Cindy with the intention of impaling her. Thinking quickly, Kara tackled Octavius and flew her into the portal, sending both of them to another universe. Cindy desperately lunged at the portal, hoping to follow the woman she loved wherever the portal was sending her, but it was too late; the portal had disappeared, followed by the generator bursting into flames.
In the following weeks, Cindy went to every genius level intellect she could think of. Reed Richards. Tony Stark. Peter Parker. Hank McCoy. Bruce Banner. Unfortunately, none of them could help her, as much as they wanted to.
For the next year, Cindy was inconsolable. She took out her anger on the villains she fought, seeing Octavius' face with every strike. She grew more withdrawn and reclusive, unable to process the loss of her beloved Kara. Eventually, with some encouragement from her friends, she began to slowly get out more, hoping to move on and be happy again, as Kara would have wanted. It was difficult, but she was determined to make her lost love proud. And then one day, as she swung through Manhattan, she suddenly found herself transported to a strange unrecognizable place...
Sitting in front of Cindy was Madame Web. "Cindy Moon. As a champion of the web, I require your aid in repairing the multiverse."
"Champion of the web... Multiverse..."
"The threads of other universes are coming undone. Other universes, some like yours, some like the original home of your lover, Kara Zor-El..."
Cindy looked at Madame Web, a sudden fire in her eyes. "Kara? What do you know about Kara?! Tell me!"
"She's alive, Cindy. And if you help us, I foresee your reunion as a possibility..."
Cindy couldn't believe what she was hearing. She might be able to find Kara. She didn't know how strong this 'possibility' was that she could be with Kara, but she didn't care. If there was any chance Cindy could be with Kara again, she'd do whatever she had to do to see it through.
"I'm in... if it means I might see Kara again, just tell me what I need to do."
"First, you must meet with my other champions. They will certainly aid you in your endeavor to find Kara," Madame Web explained. "The Great Weaver has allowed me to bestow the champions with the ability of interdimensional travel. You will reach the universe you'll meet the other champions in with your first dimensional jump... I wish you luck, Cindy Moon."
Cindy immediately teleported out of the dimensional nexus, anxious and determined to find the lost Kara Zor-El. Now that she had the means, she would never stop looking.
