Chapter 2: Resort trip with friends

"You're being quiet," Benjamin said to Amber over his glasses, his girlfriend, sitting in the passenger seat of the car with a look of doubt on her face.

"Are you, really, sure this is a good idea, Ben?" Amber said, glancing over at him. They were in his father's car, borrowed for the occasion, driving down the highway. They've been dating for the past few months and she was a sweet girl, but she had little patience for things outside her interests.

"Well, I know Jake and Matt's got a reputation," he said, keeping his eyes on the road as they got off the highway. Towards the town they were meeting up with the rest. "But at least Jeremy is not with them, and she's probably the black sheep of the family."

"You know Jake and Matt probably have fucked each other," she said, crossing her arms. She kept up to date with the latest rumors and gossip. She was not happy about joining Ben on this trip with his, shall we say, unlikely friends. "And probably Jeremy too."

"You don't know that for sure," Ben said with an apologetic sigh. It had probably happened, but he seemed like he did not want to entertain the thought. "Besides, Mike's adopted, and they've both been talking a lot about dating other people at school. If it has happened... it doesn't seem like they'd want to keep it up."

"If you say so," She said with a doubtful sigh as she glanced out the window and pulled up her phone.

"Besides, me and the gang has been friends for years," Ben continued as they began driving down a long stretch of road. "Jake and Matt and the rest of the crew. We've always talked about going out together on a little adventure. When Jake and Matt won all that money and volunteered to pay for the place, it would just be wrong for me to say no to that. And you don't mind talking with them at school."

"Well, they haven't done too much crazy at school so far," Amber said before rolling her eyes. "Besides getting caught getting fucked or fucking someone in the bathroom stalls or under the bleachers every month or so."

"Yeah," Ben said, knowing that Jake had told him they've found themselves a nook of the school they could sneak off to where the teachers or janitors doesn't go. It probably was just a matter of time before the rumor got far enough that someone would change the locks they've copied the keys to.

"Anyway, I think this is the parking complex," Ben said as he pointed out the window at the building he was talking about. They were planning to carpool with one car, and Jake and Matt had just bought a large one that you were eager to hitch a ride in.

"And I think that's the diner they are waiting at," Amber said as she pointed to another locale nearby. "Walking distance with our stuff, might as well park first."

"Yeah," Ben said in agreement and made to get off the road. A waving hand from the yard in front of the diner made him blink the headlights.
