Chapter 14 rude awakening (Voting)

(William POV)

When William awoke, the first thing he noticed was that he didn't recognize this ceiling. It took him a few moments to remember yesterday. He sat up and realized that he was indeed in the Master's suite. Yesterday had not been a dream, or rather a nightmare from some points of view.

Surprisingly, he was alone in bed. Karine must have woken up before him. Unless perhaps she hadn't slept at all. After their talk last night, he'd fallen asleep. No sooner had his head hit the pillow than he was drifting off to sleep.

He thought back to what he'd told her. He hadn't lied to her, but frankly he couldn't say he'd been completely honest either. He'd told her he wasn't angry with her, and that was true.

He really didn't want ****. **** was for idiots and psychopaths; it never did any good. Whoever achieves **** finds himself so empty afterwards that it's not worth it. The quest for **** is understandable, as he knew only too well. But he'd be a real hypocrite if he gave in to it after the speech, he'd made to Anna all those years ago. Not that their situations were really comparable.

So, he wasn't going to denounce Karine. If half the things Nezoko said were true, then he'd have to spend the rest of their lives together anyway, so he might as well avoid creating any misunderstanding. In any case, Karine's secret probably wouldn't last very long if Anna was still half as good as before.

Suddenly, he heard a door open.

"Oh, you're awake, I see," said Karine, who had obviously just come out of the shower. She was dressed only in a simple white bathrobe that fortunately hid some of her curves, otherwise William would have found it hard not to get an erection when he saw her. Perhaps there were a few perks to being the Master?

"Yes. I think yesterday was a bit emotionally taxing and I had to sleep," William replied.

_"I'll say. That's also why I took a shower. It's handy for reorganizing your thoughts. Are you ready for your second transformation?" _asked Karine.

Ah yes, there was that and there would be that. And it would happen again every day, until the end of this show.

Charlotte had woken up early, as usual. The first thing she did was to check that she still had her dog ears and tails.

Once she'd verified that this nightmare was indeed a reality, she quickly got dressed and went for a run. It was important for her to check that her body was still functioning properly, and there was nothing better than putting it to the test physically.

After an hour of running, Charlotte finally made her way to the dining room, where almost everyone was already gathered. Anna, Iris, Elisa, Hélène and Nicole were chatting quietly. Karine and William seemed to have just arrived from the suite and were trying to join in the conversation. Had they had a good evening together?

"Good morning, Charlotte, did you sleep well?" asked Anna.

"I'm fine. Where's Marion?" asked Charlotte, noticing the businesswoman's absence.

"She didn't come home last night. I think there's a good chance she got lost," replied Iris.

"We've got to look for her. She's not a very nice person, but that doesn't mean she deserves to be completely lost in who knows where. Maybe she's hurt herself and can't walk," said Nicole, getting up as if to set off in search of Marion.

"Let's calm down. I remind you that Nezoko said there was no point in running away because she'd bring us back here every day to transform us. All we must do is wait for Nezoko to arrive and then teleport Marion here," Anna said calmly.

But in the end, what shocked the harem the most was what Marion said after being teleported.

Since when had Marion ever apologized? What had happened in that forest to make her so calm? Was she really the real Marion?

Whole life together: Kurama the nine-tailed fox has been with Naruto since birth. Marion does not have this advantage. She knows nothing of William. We're going to correct that by downloading the Master's entire life into her head. The proposals were much more acceptable than yesterday. Was it because Marion had cooperated this time?

"So, Marion, what do you think? Is there one you prefer?" asked Nezoko, who seemed curious to see if Marion would keep her cool even after seeing her proposals. In all honesty, Charlotte was curious too.

"I think the third one will probably be the most practical. I confess I know nothing about William. It would probably allow me to get closer to him," Marion said.

_"I see. Does our Master share this opinion?" _asked Nezoko of William.

"I share her opinion. Even if I don't like the idea of my life being known in every detail, it's probably what's best for her." said William.

"The best for her? But what about your own desires? It's good to think of others, but don't forget to impose yourself. You're the Master. Let's move on to your roommate. Iris, here are your proposals", says Nezoko, before the content of the display screen changes again to show the new proposals.

Nezoko, however, didn't seem amused by the young woman's questions.

"A bunch of brainless baboons, that's all. Let's move on. Elisa, you seem to be looking forward to your proposals. I'm a friendly host, so here they are," says Nezoko, changing the subject.

So as much as Charlotte could understand the interest of the first and third proposals, the second seemed to have no interest in this show. Was Nezoko lacking in ideas at this point or was there something else?

"Ah yes, I forgot that our Master could be just as boring," said Nezoko.

"I forbid you to speak ill of Mr Hamon. He's right not to drink ****. It's bad for your health and causes a lot of accidents and aggression," says Hélène, raising her voice.

Clearly there was no longer any doubt in Charlotte's mind. Hélène was in love with her teacher Mr Hamon. Why, Charlotte didn't know, but it mattered little now.

_"You're right, I'm sure our Master will surprise us and live up to this show. In fact, it's already started with Karine winning the first VPs," _said Nezoko.

The sentence surprised Charlotte, and from what she could see, she wasn't the only one. Elisa, Hélène, and Nicole shared her expression. Iris was taking notes in her notebook. Charlotte was surprised. Of course, all these transformations were bad, but she had expected him to choose the first. What reason could he have for preferring the second? Did he really think the first was more terrible?

"I see and you Karine, I imagine you don't agree," said the hostess.

"I think it's important to be able to defend yourself," Karine replied summarily.
