Chapter 11: Favoritism pt2

Chapter 13 by Jamestiger21

The change in the mornings came first.

One dawn Damian simply looked past Chel when both women rose and came to the bed. He pointed at Tyra.

“Only you.”

Chel stopped where she stood. Tyra’s face tightened, but she knelt. From that day the routine shifted. Tyra alone woke him with her mouth—still resistant on some mornings, still forced deeper than she liked, still made to swallow or clean whatever he left. Chel was no longer required. She was allowed to rise, start the fire, and begin the food while Tyra performed the duty alone. The preference was now visible in the smallest daily act.

Tyra noticed. Chel noticed. Neither spoke of it.

The softer treatment of Chel continued in every other way. Gifts still arrived—cloth, a better blanket for the child, a small knife with a carved handle for her work. In the evenings he still asked about the boy. At night he still pulled Chel into the main bed more often than not, touching her with slower hands, letting her finish, sometimes keeping her there an hour longer than necessary before sending her back to the pallet. Tyra remained on the floor, pregnancy beginning to show, still used when he chose, still under the older rules.

It happened on a night when the house was quiet and the child already slept.

Damian had taken Chel to the main bed after the evening meal. He had been milder again—hands moving over her breasts and the soft curve of her waist, mouth against the side of her neck, the pace unhurried when he finally pushed inside her. She had come with a restrained, almost silent tremor; he had followed soon after, finishing deep but without the raw force he still used on Tyra. Afterward he lay on his back, one arm loosely across his chest, eyes closed but not yet asleep.

Chel remained beside him.

For a long minute she stayed still, feeling the residual warmth of his body and the unfamiliar quiet of not being immediately dismissed. The old wariness was still there—gifts could vanish, softer nights could end—but the pattern had held for weeks now. The mornings no longer required her mouth. The bed was offered more often than the pallet. Her son slept in a better cradle. Something in the daily shape of her life had eased, and the careful part of her that had survived a year under his roof decided the risk was small enough to test.

She shifted closer.

Her hand moved first—light, deliberate—across the flat of his stomach and down. She found him still half-hard, slick from her, and closed her fingers around the length of him with a slow, testing stroke. She did not speak. She simply worked him with the same quiet efficiency she brought to every other task, feeling him thicken again under her palm. When he was fully hard she rose onto one elbow, guided him back to the entrance of her cunt, and sank down onto him in a single, controlled motion.

Damian’s eyes opened.

He did not stop her.

Chel moved with careful rhythm—hips rolling, taking him deep, her palms braced lightly on his chest. Her expression stayed closed, almost intent, as if she were measuring every reaction. She kept the pace steady, the same restrained focus she used when he was the one setting it. When his hands finally settled on her hips—not forcing, only holding—she continued, breathing evenly, until the pleasure built again and her body tightened around him in another quiet climax. Only then did she still, still seated on him, and wait.

Damian looked up at her for a long moment. The firelight caught the edges of her face, the dark fall of her hair, the calm, guarded set of her mouth.

He did not push her off.

He did not order her back to the pallet.

Instead he settled his hands more firmly on her waist and lifted his hips once, twice, using the wet heat of her to chase his own second release. When he came it was with a low sound and a final deep pulse inside her. She stayed where she was until he finished, then carefully lifted off him and lay down at his side without being told.

For the first time he did not send her away.

They lay in silence. His breathing slowed. Chel’s remained measured. On the pallet at the foot of the bed Tyra was awake and listening, the shape of her pregnant body still under the thin blanket, but she said nothing.

Chel stared at the low ceiling and felt the unfamiliar weight of having reached first. The wariness had not left her. Neither had the thin, reluctant ease that had grown with the gifts and the milder nights and the mornings that no longer required her mouth. She had tested the new treatment. He had allowed it. What that meant for the days ahead remained uncertain, but the small act had been done and had not been punished.

Outside the farm was quiet. Inside the room the three of them settled into the altered dark—Damian in the main bed, Chel still beside him, Tyra alone on the pallet with the growing child in her belly and the clear knowledge that the preference in the house now ran in only one direction.
