Change of attitude

From the way you had seen Rebecca interact with her mother before, you expected her to be timid in her response to the question, letting you prepare yourself as you hid yourself away under the desk.

“Something fell, do you need to really ask about every noise you hear?” Rebecca replied, her response sounding snippier than you would have ever expected from her.

There was a silence from the other side of the door as you expected the principal to be shocked that her daughter was talking to her like that, having expected her to fold at her demands like everyone else.

“...Well make sure it doesn’t happen again” the principal shot back, the sound of her heels clicking against the floor as she turned to leave.

“Will do. And can you avoid shouting at the staff out in the corridor, I could hear you while I was trying to mark some tests. Thank you.” Rebecca added, not even bothering to wait for a response before she closed the door.

The lock clicked into place again and you heard a sigh that felt like years of tension were suddenly being realised.

“Sounded like you needed that” you said as you emerged from out of your hiding spot.

“She’s just so…” Rebecca went to replied, her hands balling up into fists before she took another deep breath.

She calmed herself and you could see her decide that it wasn’t worth the effort getting mad at her when she wouldn’t change at this point. There may have been some of your own thoughts mixed in there as you could relate based on your and your father’s relationship but that felt like you were projecting slightly as you celebrated Rebecca’s win.

“Well, I’m proud of you for sticking up for yourself” you added, closing the distance back in with her.

You leaned in for a kiss which she gladly returned, her hands out in front of her so easily within reach compared to your earlier wrestling match.

You should have been focusing on the kiss but a thought crossed your mind that had been interrupted just before there had been a knock on the door.

Without saying anything to her, you slowly took hold of her wrists, holding them together as if you were about to handcuff her while you let the kiss come to an end.

“I was hoping for a bit more conversation or at least some more fun but I think we are running out of time” you said, keeping her wrists together with one hand while you moved to one side, directing her with a gesture to go further into the office so that you could sit back down.

“It is a shame but I did actually have things to catch up on as well. We could meet after school ends?” she asked, looking excited at the idea.

Rebecca however hadn’t moved, staying in place and only briefly looking down at her hands to confirm you were holding them.

Some dots were connecting in the back of your mind and thinking back to whenever you had Rebecca handcuffed or at least held like this. It was hard to fully think back on but there were moments you were sure she was not willing to move or fight back as much when you had her in this position and only when you had been play fighting did it really become obvious.

“I can meet up with you later before I leave. You know you can sit down right?” you said with a smirk, wondering how she felt about her current predicament.

“I could, if you let me go” she joked back, wiggling in place as if that was all the movement she could manage.

You moved to stand behind her, having it take a bit of tricky manoeuvring to do that while still holding her hands. Once in position, you placed your free hand on the centre of her back and urged her to move forward. Luckily she moved forward on her own two feet and you didn’t need to **** her to move more than that and risk her falling flat on her face thinking her hands were tied.

She was already moving with you guidance so at this point you let go, letting her walk the rest of the way on her own.

“Thank you. But it would have been easier if you let go from the start” she hinted, grabbing the cushion from the floor and heading back to her own chair.

“And where's the fun in that? We would have never learnt that you were such an easy person to subdue if we didn’t try to have fun” you joked back, seeing her eyebrows raise in response.

“Well you didn’t win as we got interrupted so I guess we’ll never know. Plus I still had a few tricks up my sleeve” Rebecca teased back, placing her elbows onto her desk when she sat down to rest her chin in her hands, smiling so innocently at you.

“Even if we can’t find out now, I’m sure there will be other opportunities for you to try and fail at keeping me away” you replied, picking up your bag and the other cushion still on the floor to place it back onto the seat in front of you.

You reluctantly didn’t sit down again, feeling the urge as you looked over at Rebecca staring back at you.

“You do know that you are too pretty for your own good, right?” you spoke, the words leaving your mouth before you could stop them.

The blush rose on her cheeks and she turned her head to the side before you could watch her fully go red.

“You should leave before you come out with any more comments like that… otherwise you’ll be stuck here all day” she replied, at first making you think she was upset but after her pause you realised it was the opposite.

That made it even harder for you to make up your mind about leaving but you knew the bell would ring shortly and the mad rush to the classroom was not something you looked forward to.

You had had a lot of longing thoughts of just spending the day with your subjects without a care in the world but the problems that you were facing needed to be addressed in order to make that dream a reality, forcing you to spend a bit more time setting up your life.

With a heavy heart, you said your goodbyes and closed the door behind you without being too intimate with Rebecca when you could be seen in public.

Before you left the second floor with the offices however, you stopped at the top of the stairs out of view from everyone and briefly checked your phone, seeing a KDK notification there on your lock screen that showed a change had been registered. One that you suspected you already knew the details of.

Author's note: Going to have a week break after 23rd of March and most likely towards the end of May but haven't planned the dates for that yet.

And as I missed Thursday, there will be a chapter this Tuesday :)
