Cesar & Janissa finds a Young Cleric

Sometimes, bright things can come in dark times, particularly with a human city that was now doomed to fall to the wrath of a Dark Elven city underneath it.

As Cesar & Janissa walked the halls to see if there were anyone left that looked like potential recruits for the guild, Cesar did everything in his physical & mental abilities to mend the physical & mental scars left from Janissa's sexual ordeal. The High Elf whimpered a bit every time she was cuddled by her longtime human companion, and her Elven eyes still showed the hurt deep inside of her. As they turned towards what looked like a place of worship, they stopped to see what looked like someone in prayer. To them, it looked like either a paladin, or a cleric, given the heavy plate armor and chainmail that the person was wearing. A symbol on the shoulder plate, that of a dragon that was standing on its hind legs, suggested that the person's deity was likely one of the dragon gods. The hair on the person was also quite strange for a paladin, with full light blue hair that was about halfway down the neck. Patiently, Cesar & Janissa waited for the paladin or cleric to finish its prayer, watching the person grab an elliptical shield, and a long, heavy mace; suggesting a cleric. Then the likely cleric stood up, dusting off the plate pieces, then turned to see Cesar & Janissa standing there.

To Cesar & Janissa, the cleric was a female Draconian, and her deity was likely one of the first dragons to grace the world. Her icy blue eyes cased over the Human & High Elf, and her naturally light blue lips let out a small smile, while she bowed courteously to them. They could see icy blue dragon scales framing her silvery eyes in a diagonal position, with tiny horns at the edges. Otherwise, that was all they could see of the tall Draconian cleric.

"Have you come to take your turn, paying homage to your respective gods?" The cleric asked them.

"Normally, we would," Janissa looked up to her, her voice somewhat cracked and jagged from her captive ordeals, "but now is not the time, with this place doomed to fall."

"Doomed to fall?" The cleric looked to them. "Does that explain the chaos that has been going on overnight? These...earthquakes...seem unnatural."

"I'm afraid they are unnatural, Draconian." Cesar responded. "We have come to evacuate as many people as we could. There are Dark Elves underneath this city that are working to topple this human city from below, using a combination of geomancy & blood magic."

"And you are not going to stop them?" The Draconian frowned a bit. "Surely, you must have a reason for this indecision."

"It is pretty complex," Cesar responded, "but let's just say there is a Demonic blood pact that is well past due, and that one of Jarlaxle's agents have come to collect."

"Was that the demoness I sensed passing by while I was in prayer?" The Draconian took a tight grip of her mace.

"Yes, a succubus, to be exact." Cesar nodded. "She's come to collect the...long overdue payment...in blood, of course."

"You mean the royal family?!" She began to move forward, threatening to push her way past the guild leaders.

"Please, calm down, let us e-explain." Janissa looked to the cleric. "For generations, this human city's royal family had to make blood sacrifices in secret, with the demon lord, in exchange for prosperity and protection. This particular king has failed to fulfill that pact, so the demon lord has been working with the Orcs of Dubrovny, and the Dark Elves below these lands, to collect on that pact."

"Regardless, the demon lord is working with the Dark Elves on this matter." Cesar added in. "This city will likely fall by nightfall. We've come to evacuate as many of the citizens of the city as we can, before this city collapses from underneath."

"So why have you come to me?" The Draconian looked to the guild leaders. "If you are looking to recruit me into your guild, even if you are the leaders of the Briarwolf Guild, then you are out of your mind. I travel alone, fulfilling the wishes of the elder dragons of Draconia."

"But even a cleric can use the assistance or company of others, right?" Cesar responded. "Our guild can use an additional healer to take some pressure off of our shamaness, and we have a sorcerer, who is also Draconian."

"You have another Draconian?" The cleric looked up at the two. "I have not met another Draconian ever since I left my homeland."

"Think of this as an opportunity to work with a fellow Draconian." Janissa looked up at her. "We travel the world, taking up any suitable contracts. Regardless of the nature of the mission, you can continue to fulfill the dragons' wishes. Besides, I believe our sorcerer will take a liking to your presence."

The Draconian cleric looked up and was lost in thought for a moment. The sounds of Valnora screaming in her Ursula form snapped her out of it, and she nearly bashed her shield against Cesar's torso. Only Janissa managed to stop her from doing that.

"Try to stop the succubus, if you must, but she has already fulfilled the demon lord's collection." Janissa looked up to the cleric. "The succubus means no harm to us, or she would have killed us long ago. She only wishes to stay in this realm, because it gives her excitement and adventure. Please give us a chance."

"A-alright, High Elf, you have a deal." The cleric nodded to Janissa. "I, Sashya Verazomnyas, Journeyman Priestess of the Elder Dragons, will give the Briarwolf Guild a chance to prove themselves in my eyes." She paused to put her mace in its hold on her belt, so that she can shake both Cesar & Janissa's hands. "I hope you can do some good in this very chaotic world, for..."

The ground beneath them began to shake, and all three of them began to run for the airship.

"...by my word, I will make sure you feel the sting of the Dragons of Draconia!" Sashya used her shield to block off any falling stones and wood, as they ran towards the airship.
