What's next?

Cat Hunters

Gwen & Cassie were quick to make their way to Felicia, who they'd spotted in an alley after falling prey to one of Kraven & Cheetah's traps. While she'd been injured and was in some serious pain, she'd kept moving, instinctively trying to find safe haven among the chaos taking place on the streets; her stealth skills had saved her life in many a situation before, and they were serving her well again as she stuck to the alleys and avoided contact with the hunting drones Kraven & Cheetah had roaming the streets.

Unfortunately, another hunter was also roaming the streets, using the chaos to prey on hero and villain alike -- Sabretooth had caught Black Cat's scent and was on his way to her location, eager to finish off the wounded prey.

*Damn... this has to be some sort of poison,* Felicia thought as she dragged her body through the alley. *Gotta stay hidden. If one of those drones finds me... Oh, no.*

The look of horror on Felicia's face prompted a terrifying grin from Creed. She knew she couldn't take him on in straight up hand to hand combat, even when healthy -- she'd beaten him before using stealth and clever tactics, hiding and striking at the right time, but as well trained as the Black Cat was, few could match Sabretooth's murderous rage. And since Felicia had been badly injured, things were looking grim.

Luckily for Felicia, she could not have picked a better time to find a new partner in crime, as Selina Kyle sped down the alley on her motorcycle, leaping off of it as it slammed forcefully into Creed.

"I realize that may have been bit much dear, but I can't have you hurting my partner. It'd seriously cut into my profits," Selina quipped casually. "Plus, I have a little bit of a thing for her. You know how it is."

Selina quickly made her way to Felicia, supporting her injured girlfriend as the Black Cat leaned on her for support. "Sorry I'm late, lover. Can you walk?"

"I think so -- nggggghhh..." Felicia let out a pained grunt. "We need to find... a safe place to hide -- Spider's apartment... shouldn't be too far from here..."

"You're... not going anywhere..." Sabretooth snarled as he slowly rose to his feet. "Kraven and Cheetah think they're hunters... they'll learn when I show them the heads of the cats they could never catch..."

Catwoman popped her claws and stood between Sabretooth and Felicia. Perhaps not the best move for her own sake, but there was no way Selina was letting Creed near her lover.

THWIP!

As Sabretooth lunged at the pair, Gwen shot out a timely web line and swung him away from them.

"Look, I get that Black Cat can be a handful. Believe me, nobody knows that better than I do. But can't you think of a more appropriate punishment, Sabretooth? Like, say, a spanking or something?"

"Spider...?" Felicia muttered as her eyes widened. She'd always been smitten with Gwen, enjoying teasing and flirting with her during their encounters, but she'd never successfully gotten into that suit... although it wasn't due to a lack of effort. Since the Black Cat partnered with Catwoman and relocated to Gotham, the pair hadn't run into each other for a while.

Gwen nodded and waved at Felicia. "I gotta say, I'm disappointed. For a while it seemed like NYC had the stray cat problem under control... now it's worse than ever."

"Heheheh... now this is fun..." Felicia smirked through her obvious pain.

"Selina... meet the Spider --NGHGH-- we go waaay back."

"Being seriously injured and nearly being carved apart by a giant lion thing... your friend here has a unique definition of 'fun'," Cassie remarked. "You gonna introduce us?"

"Later, babe... I think that giant lion thing is getting back up," Gwen pointed out. "And strong as you are, Sabretooth is next to impossible to keep down."

Sabretooth flashed a sinister grin at the four women. "She's right, ya know. Even if ya do somehow keep me down, I've got yer scent now. You can run to yer little hidey-hole, but I'll find ya. You, Blondie... yer an Amazon, ain'tcha? Been a while since I gutted one of ya. You may be tougher than most a' my victims, but ya bleed like everyone else."

"So do you," a voice growled from above the group as a familiar sound -- SNIKT! -- reverberated throughout the alley.

Sabretooth yelped in agony as his arm was cut from his body. Cassie used the opening and struck Creed with a well-placed kick, sending him flying.

"Grab the arm," Laura instructed.

Gwen webbed the severed limb towards her, picking it up. "Groooooss. Grossgrossgross..."

"Deal with it, Ghost-Spider. It's gonna get a lot uglier..." Laura snarled, turning her attention once again to Creed.

Sabretooth's wound had quickly healed, but it had left him with one arm. "The runt's kid... gonna enjoy tearin' yer head off and showin' it to yer dad."

"Big talk for a guy with one arm."

"One arm's all I need, ya little shit. Think I've never dealt with anything like this before? Yer dad and I have scrapped like this thousands a' times... and you may call yerself Wolverine, but you got nothin' on the original."

Laura scoffed at Creed's comment, unimpressed. "You know, I wish Logan was here... I think slicing you up together would make for some great father-daughter bonding time. Don't worry, though, I'm sure he'll love it when I tell him the story of the first time I hacked off all your limbs."

"Eeeeeewwwww..." Cassie remarked. "My stomach was not prepared for this."

"I know, right?" Selina added. "That's why I prefer subtlety to ****. So much cleaner."

Laura and Creed lunged at one another, violently hacking and slashing at each other, their wounds healing almost as quickly as they were being inflicted.

Gwen and Cassie winced at the violent melee, while Selina had turned her attention to Felicia.

"Selina... I think I've been poisoned..." Felicia grunted. "Body... feels like it's on fire..."

"Hang on, baby... we'll get you out of here," Selina said. She rarely spoke with such worry in her voice -- apparently, she cared far more about her thief partner that she'd cared to admit.

"Oh god, I'm gonna be sick," Gwen said, watching as Laura's claws ran through Creed's throat.

Cassie winced at violent display and agreed with Gwen. "I know, babe, but we can't stop watching... look for an opening to help Laura."

Soon, that opening appeared, as Creed raised his claws to strike at Laura. Gwen hit his hand with a web ball, knocking it back and causing it to stick to a building wall.

"OK... much as I hate to say it... time to hack off the other arm, Laura," Gwen said.

"Here's a little tip, GS. In a fight, whenever you have a chance..." Laura started, before slashing at Sabretooth's legs.

"...Take away the opponent's vertical base."

Gwen once again webbed the severed limbs towards her and picked them up. "Grossgrossgrossgrossgross. No amount of showering or laundry is ever gonna fix this."

"Get those limbs outta here. He can't reattach 'em if he doesn't have 'em," Laura instructed. "Gonna be real hard to track anyone in that condition."

"I do not want to do this... but leave it to me," Cassie said as Gwen fashioned a sack out of webbing to hold the severed limbs. She flew off with the limbs, returning a few minutes later.

"Welp, that was disgusting..." Cassie remarked. "But I found a pretty great hiding spot. Should be a really fun game of hide and seek for our violent friend here."

"Guess you won't be able to track us down after all, huh, Sabes?" Gwen said, standing over the torso of the defeated Victor Creed.

"I'll tear you apart slowly... make you beg... kill everyone you love and make you watch them beg..." Creed snarled.

Gwen rolled her eyes under her mask as she webbed Sabretooth's mouth shut, followed by webbing the one-armed, legless body to the wall. "Dude, I hear that like fifty times a day. Seriously, come up with some new material."

Gwen turned to Laura, along with the rest of the group. They stood there, watching as the last of Laura's wounds closed -- were it not for her torn suit, no one would be able to tell she had just been in a bloody brawl.

"So, uh, hey Laura. We've been looking for you," Gwen said, breaking the silence.

"I know. Spider-Man contacted Logan, who told me to look for you. Said you guys want to help track down Kraven and Cheetah too."

"That's right. Uh, where is Logan, anyway?" asked Gwen.

"Pursuing a lead with Deathstroke. Said I should track you down."

Cassie raised an eyebrow at the mention of the mercenary. "Deathstroke? You sure Logan can trust him?"

"Probably. He's working for SHIELD -- got the job from Maria Hill herself. Slade Wilson's a lot of things, few of them good, but he never breaks a contract."

"In any case, looks like we're a team now," Gwen said, shaking Laura's hand. "Time for the hunter to become the hunted..."

"Ladies? I hate to interrupt, but Felicia's not doing so hot over here," Selina interrupted. "I think she's been poisoned."

Cassie turned to see Felicia, still conscious, still in agony. "Damn... Let's get her out of here. We can deal with Kraven & Cheetah later."

"My place isn't too far from here," Gwen pointed out. "I've dealt with Kraven plenty before. If this is one of his poisons, I probably have something for it."

"All right, Gwen... lead the way," Selina said, acknowledging that this was the best bet for Felicia's recovery.
