Cast of characters (League and Big 7)
Improvisation is great and highly encouraged for all writers. However, there is also something to be said for having a nice pre-existing supporting cast shared among the various threads, for the big-time heroes and villains at least. Therefore I decided to put together this page. Note that characters with their own story thread (Nudge, Nightingale, The Breeze, Xena, Flame, etc) are not listed here as a detailed bio of them can already be found on their first pages.
League of Propriety: The largest and most public superhero team of Acropolis City with a membership that tends to hover around 100. Rich, well-connected, and with a lavishly furnished headquarters, the league as a whole seems to grow more exhibitionist by the year. Meta: The Justice League, obviously, complete with hubris and friction with the non-powered population.
The 'Big Seven' (A-list heroes with authority to advise and even command newbies, usually very high in both power and prestige)
- Maiden America: The definitive superheroine and the stick by which all others are measured, head of the League since its founding and guardian of the United States since the day it was formed (well, since 18 years after it was formed, anyhow). Strength, invulnerable, flight, too many side powers to count. Unbeknownst to most, she actually lives on a tiny artificial planetoid in near space. Has two rotating sidekicks, Star and Spangle. Statuesque, curvaceous, beautiful - makes villains sink to their knees in fear and everyone (including said villains) go weak-kneed with lust. Her powers are so great that others eventually manifest superhuman abilities just from being near her. Some speculate that she is the source of all non-technological superpowers in the world solely by virtue of having so many bed partners over her nearly 250 years on this earth. Meta: A sexy female Statesman from CoH, seemingly. Update: Aside from rescuing, mentoring and sexing up Nudge, M.A. seldom appears directly in the stories due to her overwhelming power but is frequently referred to in all storylines. Sexuality: Bisexual (no preference)
- Raven-woman: Another heroine with an absurdly broad and potent array of powers, but unlike Maiden America, she is usually not looked to for leadership because of her abrasive personality. She is the half-human hybrid of a mother who was some kind of evil spirit (or alien? these categories are fuzzy anyway), and appears as a pale, goth-dressed girl with black feathery wings and a mask. She is able to call upon shadowy magic(?) that does pretty much whatever she needs it to, and on top of that, she can fly, has great strength, and carries a meat cleaver made of indestructible metal. Though ultimately heroic, she has some seriously anti-social and mischievous tendencies both in the field and off, being responsible for some of the League's most notorious sex scandals before hushing them up. She delights in breaking up other people's relationships. Her personality is extremely deadpan and emotionless, which makes her awkward in bed, although her pleasure-enhancing magic and giant porn-star titties tend to more than make up for it. Meta: A blend of Hawkgirl and Raven with a homewrecker fetish. Sexuality: Heterosexual, non-flexible.
- Whole Glory: A veteran male hero, with powers of teleportation, capable of creating portals large and small. Dresses in a parody of a priest's vestments except mostly shirtless. Originally a highly religious and traditional hero, in some ways, he still is. But when he came to accept his gay identity and relaxed his stance on the sexualization of the league, those who once idolized him were outraged. According to Whole Glory, though, every time he has anonymous sex, he still prays for forgiveness. Runs the League of Propriety's charity and outreach programs, and allows the League to respond very quickly to a heroine in mortal peril. Meta: A parodic bara version of Nightcrawler. Sexuality: Homosexual, non-flexible
- Beast-Beauty: Middle of the pack experience wise, a dark-skinned woman with feline eyes, ears, and fangs. Capable of shapeshifting to temporarily transforming into animal shapes, and also able to call upon the essential strengths of said animals to enhance her abilities without shapeshifting. Is casually promiscuous even by League standards. Enjoys spying on others. Good friends with Green Streak and often collaborates with him. Meta: Blend of Vixen and Beast Boy. UPDATE: In Nightingale's storylines Beast-Beauty has been a prominent character and revealed herself to be by far the most **** personality in the League with some eccentric, if not outright insane, views and habits. She is viciously, vocally misogynistic and homophobic despite affecting a cute attitude, running a popular social media account focused around 'Men's Rights' and 'Misandry', which has won her a devoted following among creeps, perverts and angry or embittered men. In her view, females main purpose in existence is to serve the desires of males. She does not exempt herself from these views and is both masochistic (being turned on by and encouraging her own degradation in various ways) and sadistic (taking delight in putting heroines, villains, and random women in general 'in their place'); both for herself and others, she enjoys bringing elements of bondage into sex. Despite having an even more **** version of Green Streak's patriarchal views and doing everything she can to please him, it seems that she is not and never has been his lover, likely because her sadomasochism freaks out even him. Ironically, her personality and habits are not at all feminine, as she enjoys fighting, says whatever is on her mind and generally acts very independently, although she does enjoy cooking for others and will argue that she is a perfectly submissive and proper girl using twisted logic if pressed on the issue. Beast-Beauty is closely allied with "Captain Dick", the corrupt leader of the police, and shields him from scrutiny by the League. Sexuality: Heterosexual and vocally homophobic
- Mood Ring: Female, average build blonde with short hair, youngest member of the big seven at just barely 21, a graphical artist whose fervent hope to become a heroine was granted when she received a powerful alien artifact, her eponymous ring, from mysterious alien benefactors. Has different superpowers depending on what mood she's in - fire for anger, pouring rain for depression, flight for fear, and grabby hands formed of pure energy for lust. Powerful but unreliable, and involuntarily afflicts nearby people with her current mood-swing. Often partners with Whole Glory, who has a fatherly relationship with her. Meta: Pastiche of the various Lanterns. Update: A different version of Mood Ring appears prominently in the parallel universe of Breeze's 'Apocalypse City' storyline. Sexuality: Lesbian (slightly flexible)
- Green Streak: In the words of the veteran heroine Influence: "Speedster, 250 mph city, 400 highway. Arrogant butthead, stick up his arse. Always serious, doesn't let minor goons escape even when they're reformable. Patronizes heroines, avoids villainesses. Tries to sleep with every new female in the League; gives whole new meaning to premature ejaculation." Isn't just satisfied with flirting with heroines, he wants them to feel like he's responsible for saving them from peril and be submissive to him. Wears a skimpy green midriff-baring jumpsuit and a green speedo. Meta: Flash with none of the good-natured personality. Sexuality: Claimed heterosexual, closeted bisexual
- La Petite Mort: Heroine and brilliant atomic physicist. Although her superpower of shrinking lacks some of the oomph of others, it makes her a peerless master of technology, and much of the Leauge's high tech toys are her handiwork. As her name implies, she has a girlish figure despite being in her 40s, and stands at only 5' tall in default form. Wears a black funeral dress with a veil. Has a cutting, sardonic, deadpan attitude, and when she is seductive, it is in a coldly confident way. Widow of one of the League's greatest heroes; although her funeral-themed costume is often assumed to be a reference to this, it actually predates it). Besties with Raven-woman. Meta: Pastiche of The Wasp. Sexuality: Heterosexual with asexual tendencies (she is contemptuous both of those who are embarrassed by or fearful of sex, and those whose decisions are driven by it, and usually engages in it for pragmatism or obligation instead of desire, preferring masturbation to partnered sex, with the sole exception of her now-dead husband), highly flexible
Other prominent or "honorary A-list" heroes:
Interesting Man: Honorary member of every supergroup, power of super-fascination. Everybody wants to know him. Villains kidnap him just so he can threaten them; Yolrathi invaded Earth just to meet him; once held an audience captivated for two hours by reading a catalog of finishing nail sizes; doesn't drink beer very often, prefers a perfectly-aged port. Once made somebody turn away from ogling Maiden America for a moment. In his 50s, but still active as a hero, never hesitates to help someone in need, hero or otherwise. He likes spending time around pretty young heroines but, so far as anyone can tell, never actually lays a hand on them; he's far too classy for that. Featuring in one of his anecdotes is one of the highest honors a superhero can aspire to.
Buenas Tardes: A particularly feared vigilante. An obese, profusely sweating and hairy man whose 'costume' is just a trenchcoat and a pair of stained briefs. Fights crime with the 'power of perversion'. Extremely limited vocabulary, usually just chuckles threateningly and says his eponymous phrase lasciviously. Equally feared by supervillains and villainesses alike, and kept at arms length even by heroes. Nobody knows what actually happens to someone who he drags into a dark alley - except possibly a minor villain known as Bopso the Clown, and he isn't telling. Most villains and criminals flee and turn themselves in to the nearest authority figure, begging to be taken to jail and away from him.
[more to come]
Aside from these general figures, there are also other, lesser-known heroes who are met in particular story paths... and of course, the villains. These are sorted by character below (Authors are encouraged to fill out their own character sheets if they don't feel like waiting on me)

Perils of a Novice Superheroine
A generic superheroing setting drenched with sex and scandal
Acropolis City, the center of super-human and caped crusader activity in this particular world - with its own dizzying highs and lows, high-tech skylines and slums standing in stark, four-color contrast, it provided everything that a costumed megalomaniac or masked vigilante could ask for. In fact, as is usually the case where colorful masked characters are the norm, it has become something of an institution by this point. But although the mere existence of costumed heroes and villains no longer shocks people, these people - who, by their very nature, thrive on attention - keep finding new ways to stand out from the crowd and attract the eye. This last goal tends to get a lot of emphasis in the most simple, sexualized way possible. For reasons that the world's most brilliant scientists have yet to explain, latent super-abilities seem to manifest more often in women than men by a ratio of 3 to 1 or more. This is true even when the superpower isn't "natural"; paranormal artifacts fall into their hands, esoteric martial arts schools never seem to have a male heir, the technological prototypes they test always seem to be the ones that are most easily used or abused for good and evil. Unfortunately, the glory days of the past where citizens were happy to see any old masked do-gooder show up are over - in recent years, Acropolis City has established a ranking system of heroes where those who get high marks from the citizens and resolve incidents are rewarded with corporate sponsorships and (most coveted of all) seats at the prestigious League of Propriety. Those who intimidate the populace, cause excessive collateral damage, or simply don't excite anyone, garnering low rankings, get 'asked' to move to less prestigious cities. Few superheroes want to get stuck battling clans of villainous hillbillies and corrupt small-town sheriffs for the rest of their careers, so they're always eager to please the influential citizens of Acropolis City (judges, eminent scientists, first responders, and of course the all-important reporters). On the other side of the law, a similar dynamic predominates; only the most glamorous and charismatic costumed ne'er-do-wells can make it in this town. And so, the novice superheroines just learning the ways of battling for justice and order, without any team to back them up, always end up patrolling the skeeviest, most undesirable slums of the city and taking on the most thankless rescues. As if that weren't bad enough, most of them feel obliged to dress in ways that get more outlandish and revealing with every passing year while they fight the good fight and/or feed their craving for attention, depending on how you see the 'cape life'. As if that weren't troublesome enough, the superhuman mutations that make so many of these heroes' careers possible also result in greatly increased sexual sensitivity, particularly in females. The adventures and misadventures that these spandex-clad lady crusaders get into are often too hot to print for the kind of comics that their young admirers would read. Messy mistakes will be made, but you don't want to disappoint your readers, do you? So let the League know what kind of superheroine you are, your chosen name, powers, and appearance, and they'll send you out on your first patrols. Good luck.
