Cast of Characters

So this contains spoilers for the story I'm telling in Pirate's Gold, which is why I'm adding it after Chapter five. I'll also add lore notes here as well.

The Crew of the Catherine's Fancy

William Kent.

The fifty year old Captain of the Catherine's Fancy. Has sailed under the Ithican Crown as a privateer for the past fifteen years. William has seen much of the world, its beauty, its ugliness and far too many of its secrets. William is far more learned than he lets on. The Helmsman for the ill-fated Chatham expedition twenty years ago.

Oliver Kelham.

22. Wide-eyed, still naive. The second son to a wealthy family of weavers in Ithica. Was sent off to university after which he became the aide to the governor of Still Water. Is now in the service of William, who considers him a protegee of sorts. Has not found his sea legs.

First Mate Jack Stirling.

25. Jack has only served as the Fancy's first mate for a few years. Fiercely loyal to William. A keen sailor with a lust for adventure.

Kenneth 'Old Ken' Dallan.

Ken served in the Ithican navy for many years. He fought in the last two major wars between Ithica and Mercied. The latter of which cost him a leg. He opted for what he hoped would be a quieter life at sea by resigning his post and joining the crew of the Fancy. He maintains a positive outlook but is occasionally reminded of the horrors he experienced. Has taken a shine to young Master Kelham.

Timothy Rourke

The Fancy's Bosun. Tim has sailed with William for fifteen years. A loyal friend and confidant. The pair have seen and got through the worst of what the sea can through at them.

Kitty Malloy

The Ship's Cook and mother to all who are on board. Originally hailing from the Ithican colony of Lefnos. Kitty is vibrant, full of life and treats everyone on board like they were her own children. Kitty is always the person William turns to when he is experiencing a moment of uncertainty.

Petite Gi.

The Ships's Cat. An Old Tom who has been on the Fancy for many years. Also thanks to Dacia for naming the ship's cat.

Tommy Kearnley

Deckhand. Kearnley only signed onto the Fancy a few years ago. Workshy. William is surprised that Tommy hasn't jumped ship when they have been in port.

Fineas.

The newest and youngest member of the Fancy's Crew. Signed just as they were leaving for Ragnar territory. Running from something and likely hiding something. William saw something of himself in young Finn. Unlike Oliver is a natural onboard a ship.

Governor Restan

The aging Governor of Still Water. An old friend of William's.

Jarl Ormskirk.

The current ruler of Løvenskiold. Harbours a grudge against Thorvenhold.

The Chatham expedition

Thorvenhold.

The Navigator for the expedition. Fled his homeland due to an unlawful killing. Was fatally shot by Ravenhill during the discovery, which fractured the expedition. Has mismatched eyes. An accomplished fighter, but despite his tough exterior, he is kind, friendly and very curious regarding cultures outside of his own.

Edward Ravenhill.

Ship's Surgeon. Scholar. Once held the position of Royal Surgeon to the crown of Ithica. Shared Joahannes passion for the Archons. Driven mad by what he witnessed when he opened the box containing the Logos. Is now determined to pursue William and recover it.
