Your name was Carrie, and you had just arrived at university for your second year. You had wavy blond hair and a curvy body. You mostly wear tank tops with either a skirt or jeans. You were going to be sharing a house with two other women. They were your two best friends from your first year, Aquamarine and Brandy.

Aquamarine, who went by Marnie, would be a walking paradox except for the fact she could not walk. She was a mermaid with a tail that was a dark aquamarine (mermaids are not known for being inventive with naming their children). Despite the tail, Marie was goth. She dyed her hair black, wore pale makeup, black lipstick, and dark clothing. The paradox comes from the fact that her voice was sugary sweet. Also, unlike other mermaids, Marinie could not transform her tail into legs. This **** her to either use a wheelchair when on land, but she preferred to hitch a ride on Brandy, a centaur.

Brandy had the appearance of a slender blond woman from the waist up and a moderately built saddlebred bay horse from the waist down. She often wore horsey shirts, ironically, with a jean jacket.

Carrie thought back to the end of her first year. The three of them had a sleepover at her uni flat, where they had discussed renting a house together for the second year.

You had chosen one with low rent, but it meant giving up your double bed and single room to share a room with Marinie, while Brandy got her own room with a queen-size bed.
