Carpool!

Andy was mortified when his mom and dad insisted that they all drive together on his first day at Hardwood Studios. The night before, he decided that he was going to be his own man and make his own way so, setting aside the discomfort of walking around a porn studio together, it was also a pretty big blow to his ego. As went to the bed the night before, he told himself that this was an opportunity: He'd show his parents that he hadn't worked his ass off in college for nothing and that he was capable of learning and eventually running the business side of things.

On his first day of work, Andy:

• Woke up at 5am.
• Started the day with a 2-mile run and strength training.
• Prepared some remarks to speak to the company (just in case he was required to.)
• Ate a hearty, but healthy breakfast.
• Picked out his best business outfit--grey silk, white shirt, ice blue tie.

When he came down, ready to go, the Hardwood's were having breakfast. Andy's parents were not dressed for an occasion, as he was. Jack was wearing jeans with a navy blazer and a black t-shirt. Patty wore a black top that, as always, created ample cleavage for people to drool over, and a white skirt.

"There he is!" Andy's father exclaimed, excited. "Look at you! You're dressed like a CEO!" His mom got up and hugged him. "Oh you look so adorable! My Mr. Manly," she squealed. "Oh my," she said, squeezing his arm. "He is actually quite manly. We are going to have such a hard time keeping the talent off of you, honey!"

"We won't try too hard though," she whispered loudly then cackled.

"Actually, son..." Jack cut in. "You may want to change. You're going to get hot in those clothes. Also, you will be the only person wearing a full suit at the studio. Why don't change into something... Well, something like what I'm wearing."

Andy took a deep breath, then let out a big sigh. "Dad. Mom. Listen. I realize that I am going to be working for you and will not be in any position to tell you what or how to do anything, but I don't want to walk in there and seem like your mini-me, or like I'm not there to work hard.

"Andy," Dad looked at him lovingly, "I understand that this is not the road you planned to walk. You want to be your own man. In some ways, I actually think that's going to be a good thing because, frankly, most of us didn't plan on doing getting into this line of work in the beginning."

"Dad," Andy replied, "I don't think that not being able to get a job on Wall Street is the same as..."

"Don't be rude, Andy!" His mother interjected. "We're talking about your soon-to-be-co-workers and we taught you better than to look down on people who need or _want _to use their sexuality as part of their job."

"Sorry mom," And just like that, Andy hadn't even gotten to work yet and he already embarrassed himself in front of his bosses. He went back upstairs to change, and came down in a green, short-sleeve button-down, Khakis and more sullen look.

"There we go!" Jack exclaimed again, trying to bring back the energy and salvage the moment. "Woah, look at the time! We gotta go. You have a big first day ahead!" Dad clapped Andy on the back, hooked Mom by the waist, and ushered them both in their black Range Rover.

When they arrived, Mom insisted that the three of them take a picture in front of the building. There wasn't much to see. The Hardwood Studios lot had two large hangars and a few small office buildings in the back. There were no fancy gates or even a sign for them to post in front of. Still, he mustered up a smile for the camera and made his parents happy. No matter what would happen, he told himself, this was the first day of the rest of his life. And he was determined to go far.
