Calm Before The Storm

Blaze let out a heavy sigh as Silver looked at her, asking what was wrong. She gazed at the innocent time traveler and finally confessed, "I'm not sure if, even after all of this effort, we can win. Even if we beat Metal Blaze, Nega has the Sol Emeralds, which are equivalent to my dimension's Chaos Emeralds."

She sighed, her uncertainty weighing on her heart. "Our chances are so slim... and after all the hard work you've put in, Silver."

Silver couldn't accept her defeatist attitude and barked, "What kind of talk is this?! You're not the type to give up. What was all that time training together for?" He looked at Blaze with determination. "We will find a way, and we'll save your world!"

Blaze grew silent, her cheeks turning slightly pink as she looked at the fired-up Silver. Unexpectedly, he seemed to lose himself in her appearance, as if he were taken back to his own timeline. "Your friend would be so proud of you," she said, causing Silver to snap back to reality. He realized that this Blaze would never be his Blaze, and the realization hurt him.

"Silver," she stated, sensing his distress, "Did I say something wrong?" Genuine concern flooded her face as Silver let out a heavy breath.

"It's not you," Silver admitted, "It's me." He paused, thinking he should just leave it at that, but deep down, he knew it was time to open up. "I told you that I had a Blaze in my timeline." He took a deep breath. "You remind me of her so much, and not just by how you look. It's how you act, how you have the same mannerisms... I keep trying to tell myself you aren't the same person, but..." He looked away from Blaze. "It's just so damn hard."

He continued, his emotions pouring out. "And it's not like you aren't wonderful, you are! You're really strong, kind, sweet, and beautiful." As he rambled on, Silver failed to notice that Blaze was blushing more and more.

"Why... why is it so hard?" he finally confessed, memories of his Blaze flooding his mind. He remembered the moment when he tried to control the Flames of Disaster with the Chaos Emeralds, but he failed, and Blaze sacrificed herself to save the world. He regretted not telling her how he truly felt back then.

Blaze placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, bringing him back to the present. "You know, you're really naïve," she said with a knowing smile, "and I kind of like that about you." Silver was taken aback by her words, unable to believe what he had just heard.

She cleared her throat and continued, "I'm not your Blaze, you are 100% right. However, I'm glad you're the only Silver I know." She playfully ruffled his quills. "Now, come on, let's focus on saving another world."

Silver's mind cleared, and he refocused on the task at hand. He remembered the promise he made to his Blaze, and he knew he had to keep it. He had to save this world's Blaze, no matter what. With newfound determination, he said, "You're right, Blaze. Let's do this. We'll save your world together."

And so, with their bond strengthened, Blaze and Silver faced the challenges ahead, ready to confront Metal Blaze and Nega to protect the world and its precious Sol Emeralds. Their resolve was unwavering, and they both knew that no matter the hardships they would face, they could overcome them as long as they were together.
