Called In For Audition

"Victoria Justice!" a man's voice yells so loudly that you can hear it from the women's room down the hall.

"Shit that's me. Guess I got to do this audition," you think to yourself as you leave the women's room and approach the man who called your name. You could easily tell he was a security guard by his massive torso and his work uniform.

"Right this way Miss Justice," the security guard says in a low booming voice. He puts out his hand and you go back into the room as he shuts the door. In front of you is a mostly blank room other than a blue tarp hanging from the wall to the right of you and a man sitting at a wooden desk who you figure is the director of the film Victoria's auditioning for.

He is not very old looking but you figure he's at least in his late 30's possibly early 40's. He's got brown hair and green eyes and is not the most well built guy in the word but he's not bad looking.

"Victoria Justice?" the director asks.

"Yep. That's me," you say with Victoria's golden smile.

“I know that you’ve read the script Victoria, but I’m just going to go over this scene that we're using for the auditions which is page 32," he says while you turn to page 32.

"This is right before Jax jumps into the rocket to stop the coming alien army from destroying Earth and everyone on it. Then Lauren, your character, stops him before he takes off to tell him how she truly feels about him, you say your dialogue and then go in for a kiss which you need to make a little smooch noise. No one here to actually kiss, but you get the deal. And like normal I'll read the lines for you to play off of. Is that clear enough?”

“Crystal clear Mr. Director Man,” you replied in a way that you feel like the real Victoria would normally respond.

“Okay. We’re starting in 10, 9,” the director said as he got up to turn on the camera while you began to search through Victoria’s mind to access her acting talent. The director's countdown got lower and lower before I finally found it and accessed it.

"And action!" the director yelled.

“Jax wait, please don’t go yet,” you said as you pretend to run to the ship like it says in the script.

“Lauren? What are you doing here? It’s too dangerous to be here,” the director says as you looked down at the script and read the next line of dialogue.

“I don’t care Jax, I can’t wait to tell you anymore, I need to tell you now if I never see you again.”

“Tell me what?” he replies.

“I need to tell you that I’ve been in love with you since the moment we met. Every moment since I couldn’t help falling in love with you. You’re the man I want to grow old with and have kids with. I love you Jax Storm!” you yelled as the script told you to do. You then make a motion to kiss like it says in the script.

"And cut," the director says before stopping the camera.

“How was that? Was that good?” you asked before you saw him get up and wipe his face with his hand.

"It was okay Miss Justice, we'll have one more go at it," he replied.

You honestly thought it wasn't that bad of a take but you got worried as you he walked over to you. He leaned into to so you were only inches apart from each other.

“Miss Justice," he says before you quickly interrupt.

"You can call me Victoria," you reply.

“Miss Justice, you did a good job saying those lines, but I feel like you just said them. There wasn’t enough emotion there to make me believe in every single word you said. Take it from the top once I tell you to and make me believe in what you're saying,” he told me as he went back behind the camera and pressed the record button.

"And Action!"

“Jax wait, please don’t go yet,” you said again.

“Lauren? What are you doing here? It’s too dangerous to be here,” he said as he did his best to play the role of Jax.

“I don’t care Jax, I can’t wait to tell you anymore, I need to tell you now if I never see you again,” you read.

“Tell me what?”

“I need to tell you that I’ve been in love with you since the moment we met. Every moment since I couldn’t help falling in love with you. You’re the man I want to grow old with and have kids with. I love you Jax Storm!” you say, feeling better about this read than the last.

"Thank you Miss Justice," he says before turning off the camera with a look of disappointment on his face. "My people will be in contact with your people if we select you."
