CH Day 9 - To the jungle

You and Chloe have a long, sweaty drive through the countryside and into the jungle. You arrive at a small town with colorful buildings. It's semi modern, but very exotic and strange. You drove the jeep while Chloe was on the phone. You both get out and she puts her phone away.

You both wear cool explorer clothes, like sexy Indiana Jones.

"The guy we have to follow went into the jungle around here. He's trying to return the statue," she says.

"Let him. We can just steal it," you say.

"No. There are very dangerous natives in this jungle. It will be easier to steal the statue from him than from them. We have to catch up to him," Chloe tells you as a small plane flies overhead. She shields her eyes and peers at the mountains and the jungle. People look at you both curiously as they walk past. Both you and Chloe have much lighter skin than anyone here.

"There's a guy who can guide us, but he won't do it today because he says he has a hot date," Chloe says. "I'm going to go get us some gear. I need you to go and make sure that date is cancelled."

"OK," you agree, leaning on the jeep.

"His date works at that bar. She's the bartender. I'm sure you'll think of something," Chloe says, and walks off.

Back to work.

You head into the bar and order a beer. The girl who hands it to you is short, but pretty, and actually rather fit. She wears a revealing, vaguely tribal outfit, and has long, dark hair. Her makeup is very bold. She says her name is Citra.

"You must be one of these people here to go die in the jungle," she says when she gives you your beer.

"Die?"

"None of them ever come back."

"Why not?"

"You know why not. You aren't afraid?" she asks. You are the only person in the bar because it's morning... she is bored and wants to talk.

"Not really," you say. You were tough to begin with. You have been to prison, you are a good athlete, and you are with Chloe, who knows what she is doing. You'll be fine.

Citra looks impressed. "Your life must be exciting."

"Kind of," you say, remembering everybody shooting at you last night.

"I'm jealous," she says.

You chat with her for a while. She seems nice, but definitely bored and frustrated. You offer to buy her a beer, and she accepts, so that changes the conversation to her complaining about how hard it is to get out of this village. And how much the dating here sucks.

"Even though it's dangerous, sometimes an adventure sounds like a good idea," she complains.

Time to make your move.

If she wants danger, you could offer to let her see your gun.

or

You could invite her to go on this adventure with you and Chloe.

Either way, that should accomplish your mission of cancelling her date tonight.
