You scramble to shove the journal back into the chest, your fingers trembling with both fear and the persistent arousal coursing through your veins. The voices downstairs grow louder - Jake's distinctive laugh echoing up the stairwell.

"Daniel? You up here, man?" calls Tyler, his footsteps hitting the stairs.

You slam the chest closed and try to slide it back under the bed, but in your haste, it catches on the carpet. Cursing under your breath, you abandon it half-exposed and sprint for the hallway, your new center of gravity throwing off your balance. "Where's Daniel?" Jake asks, moving closer. His hand reaches out to touch your arm, and the contact sends electric shivers across your skin. "And what's your name, beautiful?"

"I need to get in the bathroom," you gasp, still fumbling with the doorknob behind you. Your body betrays you, arching slightly into Jake's touch despite your mental protests.

"Not until you tell us who you are and what you're doing in our friend's house," Marcos says, his voice lower and more aggressive than before. "For all we know, you could be robbing the place."

Tyler's eyes narrow as he notices the chest half-visible under the bed in the master bedroom. "What were you looking for in there?" he demands, pointing.

Your friends - your basketball teammates who you've known for years - are looking at you like hungry predators circling their prey. The curse is working faster than you anticipated, turning them from your bros into potential threats. And worst of all, some traitorous part of your new body is responding to their attention with mounting excitement.

"Please," you whisper, as Jake's hand slides up your arm to your shoulder, his fingers tracing your collarbone. "I just need a minute alone."

But they aren't listening anymore. The curse has its hooks in them too deep already.
