Buying Magical Items

Princess Elana always found magic fascinating. She would often research new spells, artifacts, and the different ways that cultures use magic. One of the ways that she engaged in this hobby was by buying magical artifacts from her citizens and nobles. Some of them she couldn't use, but would buy anyways, purely because it fascinated her. One of these items was the totem of Egaland. No one knows what it does for sure, but most agree that it holds an monster inside. One stronger than a dragon based on how much mana the totem gave off and the urge you got to open it when nearby. Despite its danger, the royal family was proud of their daughter for obtaining it. They viewed it as a way to protect her since no one would want to risk her opening the book and destroying the city.

Other items were safer to use, those she would often use and put to use right away.

As with most Fridays, today was the day that people could come and offer her magical items to buy. It was a popular event, not just because it was a way to meet the princess, but also because the princess was always polite and fair during the event, offering a fair price for the item. Other people of nobility or royal descent were often a lot more rude or **** the citizen to give it to them for free. There was also the benefit that if the princess didn't buy it, others visiting would hear about it and often buy it instead. No matter what happened, everyone ended up happy. Today was no different.
