Chapter 6

What did she do?

Broke a terrarium containing something bad

“Oh no! Oh no! Oh no, no, no, no, no, no!” Tammy squeaked as backed away from the broken terrarium on the counter. Out of the hole in terrarium squirm about several thousand… caterpillars? Worms? You had no idea what they were, but they seemed to frighten Tammy.

“We have to leave right now!” Tammy yelled as she turned around and grabbed you by the arm, trying to coax all of you to leave.

“Are those worms?! Eww!” Rebecca said, her voice laced in disgust as she cringed.

“Is anyone going to point out that they seem to be coming right towards us?” Denise asked as she raised her eyebrow at the worms wriggling their way towards you.

“That’s what you should be worried about!” Tammy shouted as she pulled on you harder, “And they’re not worms! They’re the results of an experiment Hateya and I were working on by gene splicing the DNA of Tineola bisselliella and Pygocentrus nattereri!”

“Okay…” Dana sighed as she grabbed the tiny nerd by her wrist, pulling her off of you and glaring down at her, “Can you actually speak English for, like, five seconds?”

“Hateya and I were experimenting with artificial hybridization and combined the DNA of two different animals; one normally harmless, and one that was known for aggression.” Tammy explained as she tried to get out of the bully's grasp. “We picked two animals at random, but the ones we picked are the reason we have to get out of here now! They have the combined DNA of a common clothes moth and a red-bellied piranha!”

“You crossed a moth with a WHAT?!” You ask, now looking just as terrified as all the girls are now as you look back at the moth caterpillars crawling towards you, the insects now closer than ever. These things were surprisingly fast!

“Are you telling us these things are going to strip the meat off of us in less than a minute?” Chris asked nervously as she backed away with the rest of you.

“No. Thankfully, Hateya made sure they don’t have a carnivorous appetite.” Tammy replied, “But we still need to get out of here! And before any of you asks why, think about it! Actually think about it! What are moth larvae known for?!”

All the color drained from your face as you saw that the same reaction was on the faces of the other girls, meaning that you all came to the same realization. Moths didn’t eat meat.

They eat clothing

Do you and the girls make it out in time?
