Shioko did not always appear charming and kind neither was she someone that took pleasure in highlighting society's shortcomings, quite the opposite infact, She was stern, hardworking, just a bit prideful and full of hopes and ambitions for the future. However it should be said that even back then she was a bit of slut.

Things started to fall apart during the last years highschool, despite her charisma, hard work, dedication and honest desire to help her piers grow, she had failed to achieve the goal of becoming student council president, losing her coveted position to far less studious girls that did not really want anything to do with the student council to begin with and would have Shioko take care of their duties for them with hardly any word of appreciation. The second big strike was overhearing some teachers ridicule her and her dreams over her gender amongst many things, saying she should stick to fucking instead of looking for a man's job. Despite this she managed to remain strong and persevere until her father, her biggest moral support, died from overwork and her mother who seemed to have found a new life partner too quickly for her liking , asked her to drop out of school to support her younger brother this request on top of everything made her come to the conclusion that life was a just terrible joke still though she found herself laughing, if this was all a joke she decided she would live her life the way she wanted and laugh at everyone else, she run left her home and went to live with her uncle from her father's side. He was a bit distant but gave her her own space and even helped her move and resume with her studies however in return Shioko would have to pay him rent and even clean his house periodically, despite these new duties having a negative impact in her grades she was lucky enough to get a tip from one of her customers about a good investment that did wonders for her financial situation helping her to further her education even after graduating as an educator, which led her in getting a psychology major.
