Boss Needs to Talk

John was working hard when Bill called out to him, “John, I need you in my office.”

“Sure thing,” John said, his mind went through the possibilities; was he getting fired, was he getting promoted?

Bill was a bald man in his late 50’s. John and him had started around the same time. But being John’s senior he got all the promotions. He wore a suite everyday and his tie was a particularly crimson shade of red.

“Close the door,” Bill said, “I’m not liking these numbers.”

John closed the door and sat down, “What are you talking about? I’m doing good work out there.”

“I don’t think you are fit for your current position,” Bill said.
