In the end, I simply didn’t have any connections to the acting industry and it was low priority in my slowly burgeoning plans, whereas anyone could get a copy of that Ghostbusters movie, or whatever else would set her off…or maybe I should get actually good remakes to start with?

Maybe we could start doing a movie night in the library? Reorganizing had created some open space along a wall. I’d set up a seating area there to make it easier to keep an eye on the inmates, but we could use the same projector as we did for the new employee training? Just hook it up to a computer and show a movie? Maybe we could even do it wirelessly to keep the computer out of the room?

That was an idea and it might give me more access to the targets and make them less likely to damage the library I’d just spent a week reorganizing. Or the me, I’d spent the last twenty nine years making.

We’d probably need to keep the groups small, for security, but maybe three times a week, a group of 5-10? They could vote on a movie. And it would lock in everyone’s mind that I was in charge of the library. I already was the senior guard over there, but if I was, even unofficially, the librarian, I was less likely to get sent down to guard the cells.

With that done, I then set up my few little traps to try to get a leash on Alyce. I’d written down and photographed all the books that I delivered to her. The files were back at Arkham, hidden in the archives which were even more badly organized than the library had been, as they didn’t even have inmates organizing them. Think I was the only person back there in thirty years, but the point was that I had the names. I set up google alerts if any of them came up for auction and added ‘stopping at rare bookstores and asking the owners to keep an eye out for certain books’ to my list of chores.

I solved a few minor problems for Diamond, nothing big, just minor stuff she’d been putting off, ran all over town setting my little traps and spending a bit of the windfall I’d gotten to buy a second burner phone and see if I could copy the app, make sure I had a backup.

The instant I got it set up, the app was downloaded on it and a Helpful Hint popped up. So long as you have any phone with the app on it, it will download to your current phone. It is only if every phone with the app is destroyed that you will lose access to the app.

Which didn’t mean it would be destroyed, just that I would lose it…which raised an interesting question. Was I the only one with the app? Or were cult leaders and criminal bosses, religious leaders and…everyone powerful, using the app, or something like it?

Maybe not, the app had said that superpowers were barred to it by ‘the Editors’ so maybe not? The phone buzzed in my hand as I considered and it was another announcement.

PVP Mode Toggle:
If turned on, then you will be able to sense any other app users you see. However, they will likewise be able to sense you. You may turn this on at any time, but once on, it cannot be disabled. Note, this is limited to seeing with your eyes, cameras will not work (NO UPGRADE FOR THIS). You will not be able to target anyone who is already a target of a living app operator. They will not be able to target anyone who is your target. This is also true if PVP Mode remains off, so this may lead back to you if high profile people are targeted.
