Chapter 18 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What’s next?

Blood.

Egradon was quick to attempt to beg for his life, but ever more quick was Damon, who released a mighty blow into the skull of the Klurichir. Concussion forming would be a severe understatement, as his head was dented from a single punch, but he was quick to follow up with a titanic kick to the face, as well.

Damon then reached for the cowering Klurichir, two mighty hands gripping his throat and lifting him upwards. As he did, his victim began loosing punches and kicks at him, but they were all for naught.

Damon brought the ear of Egradon to his mouth, and spoke softly. “My name is Damon Steel, I am the Dragon King. You shall be the first step of my journey. I’ve never had much of an appetite for **** or power, but now that I've had a taste, I just can’t stop. You shall be a mere footnote on the chronicles of my life, of my… Conquest.”

Sharply inhaling, Damon released a mighty surge of flames. But not just any, these flames had a holy pervasion, burning away the being within his grasp, leaving not even ashes in its wake.

Damon looked at the pitiful king, and a thought later, his brains were splattered across the room. He gently brought his procession to the chamber to have them accomplish their particular missions, but Damon was distracted by a few notifications.

Damon was quite happy with his rewards, but he required a few moments to fully realize what it said. He’d be able to traverse dimensions? And conquer them, of course. But did that mean he could return to his original world? How many dimensions could he travel to? He was ecstatic to test it out, but was interrupted by the announcement of the gathered council, who had, for some unspecified, fire breathing reason, finished finalizing the official coronation of Dalia Steel-Paw.

Damon quickly summoned a dozen Earth elementals to fix the throne room, and had them escort Dalia to the throne, ethereally floating beside her in absolute loyalty. The enthroning of Dalia Steel-Paw was announced by royal criers, and was met with the celebration of the inhabitants of the nation.

While some were concerned over the Legion of Steel, and its implications, most were joyous for the greedy king’s fall, and for the previous hero, Dalia Steel-Paw, who had been assumed dead, who had always been a sympathetic voice for the peasantry, compared to the other heroes who were summoned from other worlds.

Damon shrunk himself down to fifteen feet tall, drawing the blood armor back into the Barrel, and stood before the throne for a few seconds before motioning to another crier and instructing them to spread the word. “Your Queen, Dalia Steel-Paw, has become a consort of the Dragon King, one of his lawfully wedded wives, whose very union was blessed by the Gods above.” After the instructions were given, the criers left, Elyra had Damon portal her to her own kingdom, to have her own subjects be informed of the changes.

But, of course not before embracing him tightly, and bringing his lips to hers, and as seconds passed, his other beloved partners were upon him.

After some time spent canoodling, Elyra departed along with her troops. Soon after followed by Dovei, as she transformed and began returning to the Council grounds.

After embracing Dalia once more, he set her gently upon the throne, and having remembered his own throne, he quickly got to thinking.

And then, he grasped the obsidian throne he’d had installed, and closed his eyes, through Partial Omniscience, clearly seeing Elrya’s and Dovei’s thrones, and began casting the Divine Field of Damon’s Domain.

He began projecting the field around the thrones in the same way he had with his, but with three, the output was far greater than before.

Before thirty seconds had passed, twelve million mana was used.

But fitting this consumption, each Field expanded many thousands of feet from the thrones. And each barrier was as strong as his own.

Damon gazed at the three Queens he had instated, and bestowed upon each of them the ability to control their fields. With time they would grow, and with care they would strengthen beyond recognition, fitting the care he had for these barriers, each having greater potential then his own.

After nearly an hour of concentration, Damon finally departed from the kingdom, and after walking through his portal he was met with an eager Ember and Dirpe.

He embraced them as they desired, and was comforted by the flames of one and the simple grasp of another. As Ember was fluttering around him, her arms wrapped around his neck in a loving nestle, he dotingly lifted Dirpe to his neck, as well, as she nuzzled into his broad shoulder, an impromptu bed for her rest.

Damon was walking through his grand throne room briefly, he brought the Barrel out and with the blood, he created a comfortable blanket for Dirpe, holding her firmly enough to not fall, and closed his eyes to remember an ocean he had crossed in his travels.

The one in question had countless monstrous creatures, nay a ship in sight for thousands of miles, with countless islands scattered around, utterly abandoned as far as Damon had seen.

He then set his near Omniscient gaze upon his floating continent, and opened an incredibly expansive portal, costing two million mana, he then cast Proctiv's Move Mountain, and the landmass lurched forward, slowly making its way through, and after an hour of transport, it was now above the ocean. Still impossibly high but that was preferable.

After resting for a moment, Damon teleported to fifty feet above the sea level. He pulled the Broach he’d received, and after a short inspection, he pulled his Boundless Cloak from its ethereal state to pin the Broach to it.

Another pet?
