Chapter 6

Well? Summon a demon, or put it back?
Better leave sleeping unholy beings from beyond time and space lie...
You place book back in its place. Much as you would like the power of a demon behind you, there's too much risk. Corruption of the soul, loss of your ancestoral abilities (not that that really matters, they're pretty useless... right now, at least), and the possibilty that you might fumble the spell and wind up as a demon's toy...
You step back out into the sunlight and, blinking once or twice, head up to the roof of your clan's home to sunbathe. It's not something the "heroes" would enjoy, but you're cold blooded, so it's quite relaxing, just lying there and soaking up the sun. You don't know why you haven't tried it before, even with the constant threat of rampaging adventurers there are still whole days where nothing happens.
You pick up a buff from it, too:
Sun-Soaked: Bonuses to casting speed/spell mana cost. Requires an hour reclining in the sun, and the Cold-Blooded perk. Goes away once temperature drops low enough.
Huh. Looks like Cold-Blooded can be useful. You'll have to do this more often.
Then you hear shouting. A lesser lizardman is coming up the stairs, yelling about a party...
What's so special about this party?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
