Chapter 163 by Duskford Duskford

Who wins the game?

Best-of-three

It was clear that the more they played, the more Zack found himself distracted by Hannah. The older girl’s curvy body and pleasant conversation ensured that his attention stayed on her the entire time.

Somehow Zachary became glad of being away from Ravers’ Cabin at that moment. It was actually getting suffocating for him to watch Victoria falling for Dustin all over again and endure the guilt that every stare from Heather’s blue eyes made him feel.

Hannah was like a ray of light dissipating the darkness his day had become after coming back from the lookout point with Heather. It made him recall why he had developed a crush on his sister’s friend all those years ago, Hannah wasn’t only beautiful, but she was one of the most caring persons he ever had the pleasure to meet. Zack found himself admiring her even more for taking time out of her break to make sure he wouldn’t stay back at the other cabin’s deck feeling miserable for what was happening.

Zachary was so entranced by his older companion that he didn’t even notice Hannah sinking the black 8-ball to win the game while he still had most of his balls on the table.

“Yes!” Hannah exclaimed, doing a silly dance. “I’ve won!”

“What?” Zack retorted, snapping out of his reverie and surveying the table. “How’s this possible?”

“Looks like I still have much to teach you, my young apprentice,” The blonde smirked at him before raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow. “Either that or you didn’t concentrate, I’ve got to tell you, it’s much more fun to win against a fully-focused player.”

Zack chuckled. “Sorry, you’re right, I was distracted.”

“Thinking about them?” Hannah inquired in a teasing tone, just enough to let him know she was talking about Vicky and Heather.

“Nope,” Zack replied with a brief shake of his head. “Definitely not them.”

“Alright then,” Hannah accepted his answer. “Seeing as I’m a benevolent person, I’m gonna give you a chance to save your pride, Zachary. What do you say? Let’s play best-of-three?”

Zack responded by bowing down to her. “You humble this poor soul with that benevolence, your highness,” He replied in an exaggerated accent, causing both of them to laugh heartily at his attempt of a joke. “I’ll set up the table again, just a sec.”

Hannah nodded, observing him as he began gathering the balls. A few years had passed since she last found herself really alone with Zachary, as a matter of fact, she was pretty sure it had been when she was teaching him how to play pool. All the other times there was someone else with them, like Taylor, Ashley or another one of his friends.

The older blonde was pleasantly surprised at how well he had turned out, coming a long way from the little boy who used to follow Taylor and her around. Zack was friendly, funny and smart, if he hadn’t had that crush on Victoria, Hannah was certain he would find himself quite busy fending off the female population of Azure Rocks High School.

“Hannah?”

It was her turn to be brought out of her thoughts. “Sorry, what?” She replied, looking down at the table and noticing that Zak had already prepared it once again.

“The table’s ready,” He pointed out with a small smile and a wave of his cue. “And so do I.”

Hannah chuckled. “All I hear is words,” She teased him one last time before the game. “C’mon, Zachary, you can start this time.”

Zack nodded and took his position at the end of the table, striking the white ball to begin the second game.

This time he was indeed ready, and proved to be quite the opponent for Hannah, who was mildly surprised at his skill. “Hmm, someone’s been practicing,” She remarked as Zack managed to sink two of his balls at the same time. “But will it be enough to beat me, Zackie?”

He grinned at her. “Well, that’s what I’m shooting for.”

Zack began to feel even more at ease with Hannah as the game progressed, an unthinkable fact up until about a year ago, he truly wanted to impress his sister’s best friend with a win.

Hannah, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow at his seemingly budding confidence, she had let her guard down and now Zack was edging closer and closer to snatching the game. He never saw the brief frown crossing over Hannah’s face when he eventually did win the second game.

Zack pumped his fist in the air. “Now that’s what I’m talking about!”

“Well done, Zachary!” Hannah **** a smile as she clapped. Somehow losing to someone she taught how to play the game had bruised her ego and as a result, awakened her competitive spirit. Zack’s confidence was high right now, and that would probably give him the third game as well, unless she did something to curb that confidence. ”And I know just the way.”

He was already setting up the table for the new game when Hannah slowly swayed towards him. “So, third game, huh?” She leaned back on the table beside him, a thrilling sense of satisfaction washing over her when she saw him gulping and his gaze lowering to her straining breasts for a couple of seconds before he met her eyes. “Winner takes everything and all that crap.”

Zack nodded dumbly, his brain already occupied with the task of getting his cock hard. He had tried to get past the fact that he was next to a very sexy young woman who used to be his crush, but now everything seemed to be crashing down around him. He almost laughed at his own stupidity. ”Should’ve know there’s no such thing as not noticing Hannah Woodsen.”

Hannah bent over beside him, giving him a great side-view of her shorts-clad ass. She smirked at his blank gaze and got her pool cue ready. “I’ll start.”

Who wins the final game?
