Bell Moves with Haste

As Bell watches Louis walk south, coincidentally walking towards the town of Vaniville, she realizes that it is only a matter of time until he finds Grace. But surely nothing bad could come of that? It wasn't like Grace as a single woman in her mid-30s who only child just left the house. Or that Louis was an objectively handsome man...

Shacking her head to get the image out of her head because the last thing Bell wants to think about is IF Louis fucks her Mom or not, Bell reminds herself that she doesn't have a lot of time. She needs to get moving and she needs to get moving now! Which means that she has no time to lose!

Bell scoops up Chester in her arms, telling him, "You did great, lets get you fixed up." as she starts running towards the Pokémon Center. Aquacorde Town was a small place and this wasn't her first time being here, so it took her no time to find the local Pokémon Center. Although it was her first time in the center, so she really did know how this all worked. But she saw someone that looked like a nurse behind a counter. Rushing up to the counter, trying her best to stay calm, she approaches the nurse, but finds out that she actually doesn't know how this works...

Luckly for Bell, the Nurse seems understanding. "You're not one of the regulars. First time?" Bell nods, "Don't worry, I'll take care of him. If you'll just hand him over?" Somewhat reluctantly, Bell hands over Chester to the nurse. "Don't worry, we'll get him fixed up in no time. In the mean time please wait in the waiting area. Your PokeGear will notify you went you are done."

Silently nodding, Bell walks over to the waiting area and sits down. But when Bell sits down she doesn't just sit, she collapses. Adrenaline she wasn't even aware of wearing off as she feels a weariness in her body.

Collapsing into the chair, Bell finally has time to think and realizes that her morning has been weird. "Fuck..." Weird is an understatement. She had found out who here father was (or might be now that she thought of it, Louis could be mistaken), found out he was dead, and been approached by a....

What was Louis to her? Stalker? No he wasn't a stalker, YET. Rival? Again, they had just met, but if he started following her and challenged her again, maybe. He DID apparently have the idea in his head that they were going to get married. Fiancé? "Hell no!" Yeah, Bell had no desire to get married, ever. She is fine being single, just be like her mother.

Ok THAT is a Bunnelby hole that she doesn't want to go down!

Thankfully, Bell is brought out of her thoughts by a notification on her PokeGear. Looking up she sees the Nurse waving her over, with a smiling Chester in her arms. Leaping out of the chair Bell dashes over to the desk and snatches Chester out of the Nurse's hands. "We got him patched right up, he is fine."

Hugging Chester close to her chest, Bell can't help but smile due to being reunited with her starter. "Of course he is fine! You're a tough little fighter, aren't you!" Bell wasn't really asking a question, but her words do get a grin out of the confidante starter. "Come on big guy! Lets get out of here."

Feeling much more relaxed now that she has Chester back in her arms, Bell leaves the Pokemon center and takes a look around. Not finding anyone waiting for her, Bell gives a sigh of relief when she realizes, "Good, he's not here."

The last thing she wanted was to run into Louis. No, better to try and put some distance between them. With that in mind Bell puts Chester on the ground and the two of them head north towards Route 2.

As Bell stepped forward into Route 2 she felt a sense of nervousness set in. Sure, this wasn't her first time on Route 2. But it was her first time traveling on it by herself, and as an official Pokémon Trainer. No Mom and her Rhyperior to protect her. Just her, and Chespin....

"TWEET!"

And a wild fletchling, "Just great...." It wasn't like Bell hadn't JUST left the Pokémon Center or was trying to get away from psycho prince charming! "Well, only one thing to do. Kick its ASS CHESTER!"

The hypercompetitive Chester doesn't need to be told twice, the feisty Pokémon already charging towards the wild bird. Wait, bird! "ROLLOUT!"

Chester doesn't even waist a moment, quickly moving into a roll without even losing momentum as it leaps into the air and collides with the wild bird. Stunned, the bird attempts to acrobatically attack Chester in turn. An attack which goes wide, as Chester come back around for another "ROLLOUT!" which connects. The wild Pokemon does an another attack at Chester but it doesn't even slow him down as Bell shouts out her last commend of "ROLLOUT!"

And just like that the fight is over. Bell tosses a Pokémon Ball at the wild fletchling and finds herself the proud owner of her second Pokémon. "I think I'll name you Frank."

While Bell is ecstatic to not only catch her first wild Pokémon, but also to win her second battle, one look at Chester tells her that even though he won, he isn't uninjured. "Don't worry Chester," Bell picks up the excited starter. "You did great! Lets get you fixed up." While a trip back to the Pokémon Center so soon wasn't ideal, Bell didn't see a way around it. Besides, this way she could get Frank healed up and have two Pokémon instead of one!

The return visit didn't take much (if any longer) then her first one. So soon enough Bell was back out of the Pokémon Center, Chester walking beside her while Frank sat on her shoulder.

Although, considering the trouble Bell had the instant she stepped onto Route 2, maybe she should get some potions? Oh some antidotes wouldn't be a bad idea either! If she kept having to make return trips she was going to run into Louis sooner or later.

"Oh, there you are my betrothed!" Looks like it was going to be sooner...

Bell wasn't sure what to think of Louis, but she knew one thing. "I'm not your betrothed..." Seriously, what kind of crazy person gets married to someone they just met?

Apparently crazy people like Louis, "Oh, now don't be like that Bell." Louis then gives Bell a smile. "I know we might have gotten off on the wrong foot, but..."

Yeah, Bell wasn't in the mood for this. "If by wrong foot you mean talking down to me like I'm beneath you? Then yeah, we got off on the 'wrong foot'." Making a point to shoulder Louis as she walked past, Bell heads toward the local store to get some supplies.

Undeterred, Louis follows Bell, "My Lady, there is no need to be like that..."

Not bothering to look back as she heads to the story. "I'm not your 'lady'." Ignoring him, Bell tells the store clerk, "I'll take 3 potions and 2 Antidotes." Doing her best to ignore the stuck up wanna-be prince, Bell then walks past him and heads back to Route 2. Not bothering to look back to see if he is following her.

Fuck him! Let him follow! Bell didn't need him! She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself! A thought which she was doing her best to convince herself of as she stepped back onto Route 2 and headed towards Santalune Forest.

A feeling which Bell had almost convinced herself was 100% true. That is until a figure stepped out of the Forest and onto Route 2. A figure who had a Pokémon by his side and a confidant grin on his face.

"Acreaus damn it..." Well shit, Bell was about to be challenged to another Pokémon Battle wasn't she.

Ok, Mechanical Notes/Brainstorming/etc...

Louis heads south & Bell needs to go to the Pokémon Center to get Chester healed. Pokémon Centers are easy enough to find so the question is how long does the healing take? Chester is down 3 wounds & that is the only Pokémon that needs to be healed... Screw it, I'll roll a 1d6 for it. And the Discord Bot gives me a 4. So Bell is stuck there for 4 hours as she waits for Chester to get healed.

She does have 8 (money, credits, what ever), so I could buy something. Not sure what to get though, so I'll put that onto the back burner for now. But another question is, does Louis catch up to Bell before she leaves? Considering that he will be distracted by trying to find Grace, I'm going to say Unlikely, but I'll still roll.

Ok, So Bell gets Chester healed, I don't really know what to buy at the moment, so she will head north to Route 2. Lets go and catch ourselves a Pokémon!

Ok, so the first REAL Route in Kalos! What can I find? Fletchling looks cool. It would give coverage to cover Chester's weaknesses. This is Pokemanz and part of the fun is just getting what you want. Sure, but I could do random rolls to determine what to get. But it isn't like I am trying to find something rare like an ABRA! Only for it to to TELEPORT AWAY!

So Bell(Chester) v a wild Fletchling. Roll Initative: d6 v d6 [ 4 v 2], Chester wins.

Roll out: [4,7] hits [2/3 wounds]! Next turn Rollout will have a +1 (on top of the +2 for being Super effective)

Fletchling uses Acrobatics(+2 Supper effective & +1 for no held item): [4] and it rolls a NAT 1... Well a 1 IS an automatic miss, but that means that Fletchling is pretty much always going to hit unless it roll a NAT 1.

But that also means that Chester isn't going to miss unless he rolls a 1. So lets see!

Rollout [+2+1]: 8, 8. Not a 1! so a wound [1/3]! Back to Fletchling!

Acrobatics (+2+1): 6, is a HIT! [Chester 3/4 wounds]

Rollout [+2+2]: 12, 6. Well THAT is a crit! Too bad (or good thing?) that I don't need it? Bell caught a Fletchling. Gonna name him Frank!

They weren't far from town, so Bell heads back to the center. Does she run into trouble?

Heads back to the Pokémon Center and heals back up. Does Louis find her while Bell is getting her Pokémon healed?

Yes/No (even): 5,5 YES! So obviously he found Grace and managed to find her before she left town.

Louis uses Heart to TRY and convince Bell to tolerate his presence: heart v heart: 5 v 7, and Bell tells him to fuck off :)). Ok, maybe not fuck off! He did get a 5 and she rolled a 7. But he still failed :D

Ok, but she DOES need some supplies to head through Route 2 and Santalune Forest. I'll buy 3 more (for a total of 5) potions and 2 Antidotes.
