Behind the Scenes: Dice Rolls - Day 1

The Show-runner

So, I am using dice rolls to resolve certain actions. For Day 1, the actions are all training exercises. So, for the first time, I am presenting a “move” like a move from the Powered by the Apocalypse system.

Train (Skill Check)

The character will attempt to learn a new skill, tool proficiency, or similar thing. The modifier added to the roll will be determined by the stat connected to the skill:

  • Critical Success – really master the skill. Gain 3d4 XP. Only Available when training for an expertise.
  • Full Success – learn much about the skill. Gain 2d4 XP.
  • Mixed Success – learn some about the skill. Gain 1d4 XP.
  • Failure – fail to learn anything really about the skill. Gain nothing.

At the end of the check, if the character has 5 XP earned from training for that skill, gain proficiency. If the character has 10 XP earned from expertise training for that skill, gain expertise.

During Day 1, there were 3 free training sessions, plus a couple of extra training sessions. The rolls are described below:

Prestidigitation cantrip training:

  • Andromeda: Arcana Skill Check. Daphne “Help” action grants Andromeda advantage. Rolled 3d6, +1 modifier, Rolled a 9 (Mixed Success). Rolled 1 XP.
  • Tessa: Arcana Skill Check. Daphne “Help action” grants Tessa advantage. Rolled 3d6, +0 modifier, Rolled a 6 (Failed).

Perception skill training:

  • Tegan: Perception Skill Check. Nyadia “Help” action grants Tegan advantage. Rolled 3d6, +1 modifier, additional +1 modifier (Many Tails of Wisdom), Rolled a 10 (Full Success). Rolled 3 XP.
  • Gaia: Perception Skill Check. Nyadia “Help” action grants Gaia advantage. Gaia’s Wildhunt shifter form grants Gaia advantage. Rolled 4d6, +1 modifier, Rolled a 13 (Full success [cannot crit]). Rolled 5 XP.

Shortbow weapon training:

  • Tegan: Shortbow Attack Check. Mattie “Help” action grants Tegan advantage. Rolled 3d6, +1 modifier, Rolled a 7 (Mixed Success). Rolled 3 XP.

Religion skill training:

  • Kevin: Religion Skill Check. Eilistraee “Help” action grants Kevin advantage. Skye “Help” action grants Kevin advantage. Rolled 4d6, +0 modifier, +2 additional modifier (Guidance cast from Eilistraee), Rolled a 10 (Full Success). Rolled 6 XP.

Bunny Bouncing sex skill training:

  • Andromeda: Endurance Orgasm-Resistance Check. Tessa “Help” action grants Andromeda advantage. Rolled 3d6, +1 modifier. Rolled a 3 (Failure). Rolled 3d4 orgasms (in addition to the first on failure), rolled a 9.
