First Meeting
Beginning To Unravel Things
A flowing mane of red hair that surrounds a round face with the brown eyes greet my curiosity, pink lips that begged to be touched. I was instantly in lust for her until the little voice in the back of my head asked ‘You don’t think Michaela found you finally’ I wanted to voice it out loud but I didn’t want to hear the answer if she was.
“My name is Amy Jean Pratchett!” She moves closer making me cringe at what about to come out of her mouth! “I was the one you rescued out of Merton River last night!” Aloud sigh of relief leaves my lips as she extends her left hand out for me to shake “Can we talk about that?”
“Well I was on my way to work Miss...Pratchett was it?” The more I look at her the more I want to chuck the day away. My eyes travels the length of her body, her top is tight enough that I could tell she had curves that I never noticed last night. Then it dawns on me we never spoke last night so how did she find me “Sorry who told you it was me who got you out?”
“Detective Horan gave me your name and address when I said I wanted to thank you personally!” The police!, I should have guessed when she said rescued last night. “I promise I mean you no harm Mr. Holmes!” retracting her hand from me “All I want is to know why you saved me, that’s all!”
Her eyes bore into mine and suddenly I wanted to tell her everything, like her hearing me could relieve me of all my past wrongdoings. “Sure I’m Jason, won’t you come in?” Motioning her ahead of me towards the house.
A.J.:
After Jason unlocks the door he lets me in first then he comes in “Care for a cup of coffee?”
“If it’s no bother!” I reply as he walks us into the living room then he continues on into the kitchen. Looking around, the arch typical bachelor house, a 60 inch tv, sofa, two armchairs and a coffee table. Taking a seat on the sofa, Jason returns with two cups of coffee and a tray of creamer and sugar. Passing me one cup, placing the try in front of me on the coffee table, taking a seat in one of the chairs.
“First thing I want to tell you is that last night wasn’t an attempted suicide!” Why I felt he needed to know that was beyond me at the moment. It wasn’t like I owed him my life story. There was something about his demeanor that made me instantly comfortable in his presence. Then for some inexplicable reason I started unburdening myself to him.
“My father got himself into some trouble and made a deal with the person that if I married his son, he would forget the trouble my dad was in with him!” Jason sits there shocked at that, can’t say I blame him, it’s how I reacted when daddy told me that I was getting married in less than three days time
Then he hit me with the question I wasn’t prepared to answer “So why drive off the bridge instead of just driving until you ran out of gas?”
How Do I Reply?
