Bedtime

After the movie ends, a feel good happy sappy ending of course, your mother and sisters sit with you huddled together on the couch. As they begin to chat you snuggle against your mother, your head resting atop her huge pillowy breast. Her warm soft body, the sound of her breathing, the faint drum of her heartbeat. She unconsciously begins stroking your head and neck, her soothing touch coming as naturally to her as breathing. You began to truly relax, your weary mind at peace. You were absolutely exhausted from the emotional roller coaster of the day and your head still hurt a bit. Your eyelids are so heavy...you want to sit and listen...but...you just needed...to close...your eyes...

You drift off to sleep.

You aren't sure how much time passes but you are roused as El and your mother help you to bed. Only half awake you groggily are lead not to your room but to your mother's. So much for sneaking out to Elsie's room tonight, you were too tired anyways. They tuck you in on the left side of her huge bed. The pillow was huge and soft, the sheets crisp and clean, the heavy blankets cocooned around you. You felt so...safe.

Your mom was sitting by your side while your sister stood at the bedside. You feel your mothers gentle hands as she lightly brushes her fingers over the little knot just below your hairline. You crack your eyes to see your mom and El looking down at you, showering you with love and good feelings. They both lean down to kiss you tenderly, first your mother then Elsie.

"Good night." They say in a low hushed tone. You hum a little response. You were drifting off fast. They make their way to the door and your mother turns off the light.

From the door you hear Elsie whisper. "Look at her. She's so beautiful."

Your mother responds warmly. "You all are sweetie, you all are."

The door is closed and you fade into a deep and much needed slumber.
