Be seen in public as Alexis

You feel trepidation as you leave the safety of the house into the fading light of the evening. The steps you've taken countless times before are imbued with new meaning.

Something about being out in public makes this real in a way that isn't possible in Cerve's fun house. You were almost surprised that the changes and clothing don't phase back to normal as you cross the threshold of your home.

Your block is mostly empty except for a couple young people walking away from you. Unseen you start off towards the nearby park a quarter mile away just past the gym and a cluster of shops. You feel a cool breeze rustle your sun dress pulling it tighter on your body causing it to hug your developing curves. You feel very exposed but also exhilarated.

You turn a corner onto the main street in view of many people doing some end of day shopping or getting an early meal. You feel eyes on you. Your heart skips a beat. And then... nothing. There's no call outs. No laughing. No dirty looks. Very few looks at all. Just a plain girl walking down a busy street alone. To these people nothing note worthy was happening but to you it was an incredible moment.

You walk down the same street you had walked down many times before with a whole new perspective. The swoosh of your dress a constant reminder of your outward presentation. When you arrive at the park you realize in your anxiety and lack of pockets you had left your phone at home. You guess you'll need to get used to carrying a purse, a prospect that tickles you. With no distractions you're very aware of everyone else on the path.

Many people are walking their dogs at this hour and you recognize one such dog owner that you had spoken to a couple times before and always exchanged nods in the past. **** or Ted you think his name was. You hadn't realized until now that he was kind of cute. He doesn't appear to recognize you at all. You were tempted to say something but didn't trust your in progress voice yet to be as convincing as your in progress transformation in the fading light.

After completing one circuit you head back home as the sun begins to set. You're glad you did this, your confidence is soaring.
