Chapter 19 by Colleem Colleem

What's next?

Batman vs the Vampire Bride.

Batman slowly slumped against a wall and had to take a short breath. He had only made it out all right thanks to a good bluff without risking a big fight and was glad it had worked out so well. On top of that he now had the certainty that Harley had no idea who he really was. Nothing in her gestures or facial expressions or her body language had indicated that she was hiding something. At least that was one problem less. Now he could concentrate again on finding the mysterious attacker who had messed him up so bad that night. Crazy enough, he still couldn't remember anything. He was probably hit hard during the fall, which caused a temporary amnesia. However, he had to re-examine the crime scene himself. Not that he didn't trust Nightwing but he just wanted to make sure nothing was overlooked. Although he was still in pain, he went to the Batmobile and had the coordinates of the roof displayed. It wasn't long before the heavily armored vehicle stopped in front of the road and most people disappeared hastily when they saw the dark knight get out. Even those who had no dirt on them knew that it was better not to get involved with Batman. So he was able to examine the roof in peace of mind but before he really started he suddenly heard a machine gun fire from the nearby pier. With a fast set he was already back in the vehicle and drove towards the pier but he was too late.

When he arrived he could see 5 corpses on the ground and a woman leaning over one of the corpses and holding him well in her arms. In the thick fog coming from the sea slowly wafting over the pier the few working lamps on the pier created an almost unreal scenery. Batman himself slowly approached the group from the fog. He could now see the group more closely. There were five men, probably sailors or dockworkers. The woman leaned over one of the men and suddenly stopped. Bruce was pretty sure that it was impossible that he had already been heard at this distance but the whole attitude of the woman suddenly changed. She raised her head and then turned it very slowly in his direction. Bruce was not badly astonished what he just saw in front of him. The woman kneeling about 20 yards away was none other than Dr. Mendez. But something about her was different from the celebration at his estate. She had applied a thick layer of makeup and had chosen an almost gothic look. The makeup made her look completely flawless and her eyes were amused. Her lips were blood red and a fine thread of red fluid ran from her lips over her chin. It almost looked like blood.

Batman did not know exactly what had happened here, but it was impossible that the 5 men could have been overwhelmed by Dr. Mendez. So what happened here? Before he could say anything, Dr. Mendez smiled at him and said.

"Look. The famous Batman. I've always wanted to meet you! Must be my lucky day."

"Are you hurt, Dr. Mendez?" he asked in a disguised voice.

"Oh? You know me? Were you sneaking around my window and looking in? Bad boy," she laughed and put her hands over her head. Slowly her hands slipped down again and she posed lasciv in front of him without getting the slightest movement from him, which spoiled her mood quite quickly. Once Dracula had revealed to her the secrets of the night, everything was so much better. Her senses were so sharp it almost seemed like she had been blind so far. Her strength and speed were a joke compared to her master, but she had overwhelmed and killed these 5 men in a few seconds. Strangely enough, she didn't feel the slightest regret about the murders. It must have been part of her new side. And she was just in the mood for more blood. And then immediately such a famous inhabitant of Gotham. What woman hasn't always wanted to play with Batman? She would surely have a lot of fun with him... before she would suck the last drop of blood out of his impressive body. But that this arrogant guy didn't even respond to her made her angry. And it's been very easy to piss her off lately. Dracula had already warned her about the animal inside her. It was the source of all her vampire power but also the most dangerous aspect of the curse. Dracula told her that every vampire had a monster in them. A creature that would do anything for its hunger. And the greater the hunger, the more dangerous it would become. However, she enjoyed the darkness of the animal within.

"I repeat my question to Dr. Mendez. Are you hurt?" the dark knight's voice snatched her from her thoughts.

His cold, controlled way drove her insane! She wanted to have fun! She wanted to enjoy her new senses! And she would have fun!

"Don't be so Batman! As you can see, I feel excellent! So why don't they both just have some fun?"

„What happened here?" he asked again and one hand of him went under his cloak and grabbed one of his throwing stars. His instincts told him something was wrong here and that maybe that woman there was the killer of those men. It could be Clayface. Actually he was supposed to sit in Arkham but Bruce had not yet found the time to familiarize himself with all the data. It could be that he had somehow managed to break out in the last days and had now taken the form of Dr. Mendez.

"Oh, let's cut the small talk! Let's have fun," laughed Dr. Mendez and tensed her muscles. Their attitude was now much more aggressive and above all offensive.

Batman clearly recognized the change in the young woman's attitude. Before he'd let her come to the train, he planned to take her out. The fact that with five men all weighing twice as much as herself was a sign that she was dangerous. With a lightning-fast movement he hurled the Baterang at the young woman. Loaded with a massive dose of narcotic gas. To his astonishment, Dr. Mendez caught the throwing star with a casual movement of her left hand in the air and grinned at it broadly.

"Really?" she could say before the charge detonated right in her hand and enveloped her in a thick cloud of gas.

Batman stood still and waited. The poison was enough to stun a rhino and so he was quite surprised that suddenly the woman stepped out of the cloud of smoke and ran towards him at an almost inhuman pace. The beautiful woman with the lovely face now seemed like a raging animal. The 20 yards overcame the woman in a heartbeat and only reflexes trained for decades saved Batman's life. Completely instinctively, his body had his left arm to protect his head. His plan was to immediately counter with a quick right but nothing came of it.

As soon as Dr. Mendez hit his block with her hand, Bruce felt a deviant pain. It was like he was in a sparring match with Wonder Woman. By the **** of her attack he staggered back several meters and although his arm hurt his iron will was unbroken. Even though the woman before him was incredibly fast and strong, she lacked any sense of martial arts. Before she could change from her attack back into a new favorable position he had already caught himself again and jumped back in a wide somersault. Mendez's blow went nowhere, which only seemed to make her angrier. Still in the air, he reached for his multipurpose belt and chose a dozen bomblets. This person was clearly a meta-human, so he could unpack heavier guns. Before he touched the ground, the mini-bombs were already hitting her. A dozen explosions surrounded Mendez and this time they had an effect on her. The **** of the explosion tore Dr. Mendez from her legs and she staggered dazed out of the explosion wave. Instinctively she had her hands in front of her face what Bruce thought to exploit ice-coldly. Before she caught herself again, he was with her and with a brutal kick he jumped straight at her through the smoke. Years of training made sure that the kick was flawless and she got volley. Still staggering, she could not keep her balance or defend herself against the ****.

She couldn't believe it. A few seconds ago she would have thought that this fight would have been over in a few moments and now she was actually on the defensive. These little balls had completely surprised her and as soon as she was caught again the dark knight was already there and she felt how his leg hit her. The **** threw her against a ship container and her head hit hard against the cold steel. If she were a simple mortal weak being then she would probably be stunned now. But she wasn't anymore. Angrily hissing, she released herself from the container just to pull her arms up. Batman wouldn't let go. He attacked her with a series of quick attacks. Although he moved in her eyes as if in slow motion, he somehow managed to get his attacks through again and again. But at some point it was enough for her. The wild animal power in her blood awoke. With an angry scream, she struck. Even if she didn't hit him perfectly, it was enough to throw Batman 2 dozens of yards over the ground. Mendez felt her wounds slowly but surely healed but she now knew that she could not underestimate him under any circumstances. Her pride had made her forget that Batman had already fought and won against other superhumanly strong beings. However, she did not intend to lose. With a titanic jump she lifted from the ground and bridged the distance in a single set. Batman had managed to roll again and get on his feet but was still too dazed by the blow to react. That was completely enough for her.

Batman felt his chest pounding with pain. The breastplate of the armor had caught most of the armor and yet the remaining energy was enough to injure it. Dazed, he saw Dr. Mendez jump almost 30 meters and landed right in front of him. Before he could react, he saw her eyes. Something about her eyes was strangely fascinating. Blood red and infinitely deep. He felt his body relax and a strange calmness come over him. He had already dealt with hypnotists but had never felt such a strong hypnotic spell on himself. He fought it with all his might.
