Kaito goes after the oni, ducking under the swing of the beasts spear. He attempts to slash the leg, but is blocked which knocks him back a few feet. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Gemma tearing into a few goblins but slowly being surrounded. Kaito moves out of the way of thrust by the oni's spear, then makes a move to cover Gemma's exposed rear.

"Hilda, give me a speed boost! Gemma get ready to switch opponents!" Kaito orders, a plan having formed.

Hilda uses a spell which increased Kaito's speed. Gemma rips another goblin apart before throwing his mangled body towards two others. Kaito strikes down two more goblins, only 14 remaining.

Gemma takes this opening to charge the Oni, ducking under a swipe. Two seconds later, she dodged an over head slash. While his spear point was down, she jumped high, slashing her claws across the oni's face.

With the boss busy, Kaito makes quick work of another 5 goblins, slashing through them with relative ease. Using his speed boost to retreat a few steps so they don't get within range to strike.

Hilda watches from the edges of the battlefield, trying but failing to cover both of them. Having noticed the piercing thrust before it struck, Hilda droped the speed spell on Kaito so as to activate a shield spell on Gemma. The quick thinking saved Gemma from being impaled, but she was still hurt as the impact pushed into the cavern wall, knocking her out.

Hilda rushes to Gemma's side, attempting to heal her. Kaito blocked a sweep directed towards Hilda. Although successful, his katana was knocked out of the his hands.

The goblins started to move towards his party, who they could tell were close to faltering. Kaito draws his wakizashi, making a quick slash on the oni's leg. This drew the oni's his rage towards him. Using this to his advantage, Kaito ran towards the goblins with the enraged oni charging after him.

Just as Kaito is in striking range of the goblins, he jumps forward and kicks off the head of a goblin. He vaulted over the oni's head, the thrust meant for him stabbing through the remaining goblins. While the oni recovered from its mistake, Kaito slashed through the tendons of the monster's knees, bringing it down to its knees. Before the beast could recover, Kaito jumps onto the oni's head and held onto its horns as he stabbed it repeatedly in its eyes. Once the boss fell to the floor defeated, Kaito retrieved his katana. After cleaning and resheathing it, he went to check on his allies.
