Chapter 3

Bank?
Bank
It took me about 20 minutes of walking to reach the bank. Entering the doors I feel slightly underdressed, perhaps even if a put on a simple button up I'd look a little more professional. However at this point I've become a monthly regular here and they recognize me. Technically I shouldn't be paying my mothers bills, especially her mortgage here. But me and my sisters figured out a way to get it done, I guess it helps to be friendly with the right people, or at least generate enough sympathy from them. The bank was the easiest of the three, my mom's friend Simone works here and she is also the one who handles our payments.
I see here wave her finger at me in a come hither motion to her little office, much to the chagrin of the two people in front of me. Entering Simone's office you get a cramped yet cozy feeling. There's a bookshelf with binders and financial books in there and her desk with two relatively comfy chairs in front of it. I take a seat in one of them while Simone moves to take a seat at her desk. She was a stunning African-American beauty, around 40 years old she had a tight pencil skirt on that showed off her big ass and a blouse with the buttons just low enough to show her D-cup breasts. She also had two daughters but they were closer in age to Cindy and Claire so I was never too close to them. My sisters and I used to spend a lot of time with her when we were younger, she was our babysitter for the most part, one could even argue she was our surrogate mother. Now when we're now all grown, she still takes care of us I guess, just not in the same way.
"What have you got for me CJ?" She says in a calm manner. And I open up my backpack and grab the envelope Cindy had made and handed it to her. Naturally she opens the account on the computer and the envelope and counts all the cash from tips Cindy had made. "This should cover the month, however you have a little extra," she says handing me the envelope back. I come to find after doing this for a couple months that there wasn't actually extra, we tended to be short and she'd pay the difference whilst giving some money back. "Thank you, Simone," I said whilst putting stuff back into the backpack. "It's okay, sweetie. Did you have breakfast today? I can take a break and go get you something across the street."
"No, but it's fine, I still have a couple stops to make today, I'll eat when I get home," I replied and she just nodded and let me go on my way. And while food did sound nice, she had already done enough for us that I feel the pity was just too much. But it became part of the routine I guess, ask to get me food and I reject. I think she already knew I was going to say no but out of obligation said it anyway. But that leads to the end of the first stop, now to catch a bus.
