Bad news

Chakwas was looking over Liara.

The whole time the asari was so humiliated. She couldn't believe this was happening, but at least the doctor was being professional.

"It's not good news I'm afraid."

"What is it?!"

"Nanites. Very advanced most likey prototypes. The seem to be ingrained into you very skin. They attack any material that attempts to conceal them. I'll have some scientists I trust look at them closer but we need to return to the Citadel immediately."

"There's nothing you can do?"

"This is beyond me unfortunately. Hopefully the men I'll send these results to will have a better idea."

"MEN?!"

'Yes my dear. I'm sorry this is no doubt embarrassing for you but there is nothing I can think of the reverse this. I need a broader perspective."

"The device! It did this. I am a Protean expert I'll reverse it myself."

"Unfortunately that's not possible. The devices is locked away following procedure of a dangerous item. I cannot allow anyone, even you, operating it. There's a possibility you could make it worse."

"Worse than being naked indefinitely?!"

"Yes! One wrong adjustment and the nanites could begin to attack your body itself."

Liara realized the dangers of that now.

"I can't believe this happened to me.." she had tears forming.

"I understand. I will do everything in my power to make this as easy on you as possible. But I have to quarantine you as well."

Liara nodded understanding the situation. Plus if she was locked away from everyone then the less people would see her.

"Very well."

"Luckily the Commander has been briefed and we believe to have an acceptable accommodation in place."

"Not in my room?"

"That has been locked away with the device."

"Then where?"
