Bad news brings good things
I drive her home, a somber silence hanging over us as my truck traveled through the city. I would steal a glance over at her from time to time, her face stuck in concentration in what I assume trying to figure out what she had to do to get back here. I pull into her driveway after short turn by turn directions from her, putting the truck into park. "It's going to be ok, you know. Stuff like this happens all of the time and now we know what's going on in each other's lives, so we can keep in touch." She just smiles sweetly, turning in her seat to face me. "Hank, your the sweetest guy I've ever known, you better bet I'll keep in touch with you." With that, she leaned in, pressing her lips against my own. She smelled sweet, her lips tasting like cherrys. I was sad as she pulled away, she giving one last sad look before climbing out of the truck and hurrying inside. I watch her go, half inclined to run after her but I just put the truck in reverse with a sigh and back out, deciding to head home. I just go to bed, no longer excited about the day and wishing for it to be over. I fall asleep, the memory of her sweet lips against mine lingering on my mind as I fell asleep.

Helping a Friend Out
Shrinking for a good cause
Pregnancy problems affect many in this world, luckily your childhood best friend has come up with a solution for hers and you might be able to help out. I write these stories during breaks at work on my phone while they're fresh in my mind, so they just have basic punctuation in one long paragraph broken up into sentences. Some day I'll get around to putting them in proper story and paragraph form. Until then, enjoy the rough draft.
