Backstage At The Show !

The modified mankinis were the climax of the show for the Bimbo WAG lingerie and swimwear range. Lesley joined Debbi and Sally at the end of the catwalk to accept the applause and take a collective bow, the girls being careful not to fall out of their lime green suits and Lesley slightly uncomfortable in a posh frock that was a departure from her usual punk style. Lawrence was snapping pics to document the show, the audience having been asked to refrain from taking photographs.

Still 'dressed' in the swimsuits, Debbi and Sally were mingling backstage with selected guests and posing for selfies, the no photos rule now having been relaxed. It had been a good turnout and there was much exchanging of luvvy style air kisses. Roddy and Clinton were there with a couple of other team mates. Two of the women panellists from The Morning Show had come to offer their congratulations and Reg the producer plus a couple of London based members of the soap cast were milling about.

Sally was pleased to see the comedian Eddie Tempest approaching. "We'll have to write this outfit into your routine" he told Debbi, admiring the cut of her minimal attire. "Routine ?" queried the puzzled Debbi. "You know, your stand up" Sally reminded her. "But I thought that was just a joke, not a serious idea" Debbi objected. "Sally's been liaising with me" Eddie confirmed. "I've already made progress on a bunch of material with my writing partner Daisy. That's her over there." He pointed to a sharp looking thirty something. "She loves the concept of the Bimbo WAG character and there are a couple of comedy clubs eager to give you a slot" he continued.

"But I've never done anything like that" Debbi pointed out. "But you're acting now ?" said Sally. "After a fashion" Debbi admitted. "And I've seen you handle those women on The Morning Show. You have natural timing" Eddie assured her. "We won't expect to go in without rehearsal." At this point, Lawrence hustled the pair away to pose for publicity stills with Lesley and the sponsors. "I'll call and we'll arrange a run through" Eddie called after them. I guess there's no harm in a rehearsal to see how it goes, Debbi reasoned to herself.
