Back to work
Waking up, Nimrod found an unexpectedly beautiful place, a small platform made from pipes and other pieces of metal that left unused gaps, perfect for Kia'an to take Nimrod to rest atop her, still giggling and blushing that she found such an amazing man. Before, she had men lining up to take her hand, even some fanatic zealots, and for her livelihood, she fucked many more, but none were so smitten at a first glance that they'd brush past all the Imperial brainwashing (she doesn't know he ain't Imperial). Kia'an saw it as fate that Nimrod was the one to take her for good, that she was changed by his hand.
Before Nimrod could even fall for his divine scam, she was his, and when Nimrod woke up, he was hers. The two of them then moved to truly create and expand the cult, quickly acclimating the mutants to Isha's healing gifts and allowing the other first worshippers of this cult to go into extremist worship of the pantheon and its particular gods. None got upgrades quite like Kia'an, but they were still happy to be free of the pain or healed from it.
The only true obstacle for the moment was the Genestealer cult in the hive city next door. The Genestealers were gonna ruin it for Nimrod and his Chaos cult; the Genestealers were gobbling up necessary resources for Imperial tithes, they were quickly growing antagonistic and in numbers, and the Genestealers were clearly planning to rebel. To stop his people from getting discovered, Nimrod goaded the Sisters of Battle, Adeptus Arbites, and zealots into starting a premature war that set them off. As for Nimrod, he went DEEP underground, using stolen technology to put his people into stasis, keeping them out of trouble till the Imperium left. Afterwards, Nimrod awoke his cult, allowing them to get back to operations and duties, which mainly involved living their daily lives with some time devoted to learning and theorising, both about the Warp and science, things the Imperium keeps secret or banned. They weren't a typical cult of indulgent fools; Nimrod made them understand the corruption of Chaos, ensuring they used Isha to keep them healthy, mentally and physically. Still, there were always extremists, whether he blocked the Chaos corruption or not, so Nimrod let them spread their wings. Kia'an almost became an extremist for each god several times, but she ultimately decided to go neutral with a favourite in Isha, just like Nimrod.
The state of the cult was sustainable, but not while the gods pushed them to grow, both in terms of deity and in size. To help things maintain their stability, Nimrod welcomed the surviving Genestealers of each generation, allowing them to fall completely to Chaos. One would think that they'd completely worship the dark gods, yet, despite the lack of a patriarch and their current corruption, the Tyranid Hive Mind's insidious nature lay deep within their DNA. This was what Nimrod was counting on: these Genestealers stuck to their 4-Armed Emperor faith in some form or another, keeping them stable as they fell deep into each god, acting as a naturally pacifying **** as they littered the halls.
