Back to the Mailroom

You just got a scholarship, you aren’t chancing getting fired. You head back to the mailroom.

The moment you enter The Company you close your parasol. You feel like you’re on top of the world. You breeze through security and punch three on the elevator.

The moment you step off the elevator you can hear a gentle thumping sound. You head toward it. It grows louder. You step into Emily’s office and realize it is her heart beating.

“Oh, hi Jessica.”

You catch the scent of her shampoo. It is rosemary and mint. The scent of oranges and aloe from her skin cream hangs in the air. You watch the pulsing of a beautiful vein in her neck.

“Earth to Jessica.”

Her comment breaks your trance. “Sorry, just got exciting news at lunch. Spaced out a bit.”

“That’s ok. Can you take this letter up to twelve?”

You lick your lips. “Absolutely. I’ll get it there straightaway.”

You listen to her hearts rhythmic beating as you walk up to the elevator. You hop on and punch twelve.

Moments later you step off on the twelf floor. You grin as you see who is approaching you...
