Chatting with Lilith

After dinner, Ryul and Shalia join me in the library again. This is one of those days where Kiara isn’t around, so it’s just us three. After a while, my friends leave for a bit to take a break. All of it pretty normal. But then something unusual happens. Lilith comes into the reading room.

“Oh, hey Darx. I didn’t know you were in here.” She says.

“Good evening, Lilith.” I greet her. “Ryul and Shalia were here too. They just left to take a break.”

“Really? I didn’t notice.” Lilith replies as she starts cleaning the room. I guess she serves as both royal guard and maid. “They must have left while I was cleaning up the other reading room.”

I continue reading my book on summoning, but after about a minute or so Lilith sits on a chair next to me.

“Quite a rare eye color you have there, by the way. Did you get them from your mother or your father?”

“Neither.” I reply. “None of them had red eyes.”

“Well, you should definitely consider yourself fortunate for having them. They are very pretty.”

“Thanks.” I reply.

Man, I would love to continue reading about summoning. It seems like such a cool skill to have. But if Lilith wants to have a conversation … well I don’t want to be rude, so I’m going to have to put the book down when that happens.

“So, Darx. Have you already thought which guilds you would be joining?”

That is actually a good question. I have been invited to each of the big three so I guess someone with my skills is quite popular. But which one would I be choosing?

“Mmm, I’ve been thinking about 2 of them.” I tell Lilith.

“I hope one of them is the Royal guard. I strongly recommend that one. I find it quite rewarding to help the queen and the princess.”

Huh. Now that is an interesting suggestion. The Royal Guard are the queen’s representatives. Attacking them is like attacking the queen. If I were to join that one, I doubt Kase would be able to do anything to me. I would also be closer to Kathleen and we would be able to continue our meetings and train her water magic.

I close the book I’m reading and put it down. I make ready to ask Lilith more about the Royal Guard, but then I notice a scent. It’s odd. I’m sure I’ve smelled it before. I take a few more sniffs and I discover it is coming from Lilith.

“Hey Lilith.” I say. “Don’t take this the wrong way but why do you smell like vagina?”

“Ooops. Guess you caught me.” Lilith giggles. “You’re right, I took a certain liberty just recently.”

She then changes her expression to something more seductive and says, “But if you like, I can easily take another liberty right now. Just for you.”

Lilith then brings her left index finger into her boob window and pulls it down a little. I’m not sure if it’s my imagination or not, but it seems like her boobs grow a little. The next day Syvis really is back, and she trains us like usual. Kiara returns to the library as well and I didn’t run into Lilith. The rest of the week continued like this until our final day with Syvis. For our last day with her, she had us fight her, she like the other mentors.

First, she separated us into three teams. Leona with Miranda, Ryul with Shalia and me with Wendy. Then Syvis summoned her three elementals. For every elemental we slay, two of us will be invited to her guild. When all three of them get defeated, we all get invited.

This leaves me very conflicted. Do I really want to help my friends into Kase’s guild? Yesterday he found out we’re on good terms. When they join his guild, he will likely target them just to get to me. I can’t tell them, because I would have to reveal Syvis told me which guild she’s in and we’re supposed to keep our mentor’s guild memberships a secret.

Then I realize, if we all get invited, I won’t need to keep any secrets and I can talk openly with them about it. So that is my resolve now. To defeat all of Syvis’s summons.

The obvious strategy of course is to bring Wendy to the elementals. As soon as she gets close enough, they will literally fall apart. It is such an obvious strategy in fact, that Syvis figured it out as well and immediately starts blasting her with multiple [Water Ball] spells. As soon as those come into Wendy’s [Null Field] they lose cohesion, but they are still coming in at such high speed that she needs to bring up her shield and keep her defense up. In the meantime, the earth elemental starts approaching Ryul and Shalia and the fire elemental approaches Leona and Miranda.

The first thing I need to do it take the pressure off Wendy, so I pull out my scroll and try to cast the [Migraine] spell on Syvis. But as I cast it, the water elemental forms a shield around Syvis and absorbes my spell. Since the water elemental doesn’t have a brain, it will be as if the [Migraine] won’t have any effect. Damn.

I quickly change tactics and get behind Wendy. This way I can make use of her shield as well. Though I make sure to stay out of her [Null Field]. That is when I start casting my [Water Spear] and shoot it at the fire elemental. The spear was so powerful that when it pierced the elemental’s chest, it caused it to be split in half. That’s one down.

I yell out to Leona and Miranda to keep Syvis busy. This way, our dark elf mentor will be too busy defending herself to continue attacking Wendy.

With Wendy free to move around, we hurry to Ryul and Shalia, who are fighting the earth elemental. I can see Shalia try and cast earth spells on it, but the earth elemental is immune to those. Her water spells also seem to have little effect. The [Water Spear] Shalia uses in it does damage it a bit, but I guess water is just not strong enough to seriously damage solid rock.

Wendy manages to rush the earth elemental and just like at the start of this week, her [Null Field] causes to elemental to fall to pieces. Next is the water elemental.

This one is still protecting Syvis. It doesn’t take long for us to bring Wendy towards our mentor, and ss soon as Wendy is standing next to our Syvis, both the dark eld is no longer able to cast spells and the last elemental falls apart.

“Congratulations all.” Syvis says as she reveals the golden ring with Oblivion’s emblem on it. “The lot of you are hereby invited to become members of Oblivion.”

My friends cheer and I give them this moment to be proud of themselves. But during dinner I let them know that Kase is also a member of Oblivion. It dampens their spirits a bit, but I feel it’s better for them to find out before they make a decision on their guild, not after.

Today was our last day with syvis. But 3 weeks of this month have passed. There is still a fourth week left to go. Yet there are only 3 mentors. I wonder what Harold’s plan is for this.

The next morning, after breakfast, Harold comes and gathers all of us. Not just my team, but the other 2 teams as well. He brings us back to the room where we were assigned our first mentor. It almost feels like the awakening ceremony happened only yesterday.

Once all of us, including our mentors, have gathered, Harold gives us another speech.

“I am sure a lot of you have impressed some of your mentors. Those who have, already know which guilds these three people belong to for they will have received invitations to join these guilds. For those who have yet to impress their mentors, it is time you found out.”

Harold then turns to the mentors and continues. “First, we have Syvis, who is both a member and recruiter for Oblivion. Dante instead, is a member and recruiter for Midnight Dawn. Finally, Kiara is member and recruiter for the Dark Dragons.”

Well, guess I no longer have to keep my invitations a secret.

“For this last week, the lot of you will be permitted to choose who your mentor will be.” Harold says when he addresses us again. “If there is any specific one of the three big guilds you wish to join, then this is your last chance to try and impress the appropriate mentor.”

I see, that is very interesting. For my part, I have already received invitations from all three mentors. So, I don’t really need to impress any of them. Perhaps I better choose my mentor based on the skills I wish to learn.
