Back on track

Though the news about Kelly is still eating at you, you get through the rest of your day without issue. You decide not to tell the girls, at least at first, since it would only upset them. Besides, there’s nothing that can be done for now. Rachel is right, you have your own life to live.

And on that thought, your mind turns towards Dakota. Though your plans are technically a secret, after your evening with Ellie and the night with her and Mazzy, you’re pretty sure all the girls understand what’s happening. Dakota in particular is clearly excited, having been with you almost as long as any of them. When you left for work, she was even more affectionate than usual, which was certainly very nice, her playfulness coming out in a more loving fashion than usual.

As you drive home at the end of the day, you find yourself smiling as you think about your plans. You’re certain that Dakota will have a great time, and you’re even more certain that you’re on the right path. The happiness you see from the girls tells you that you’re getting something right, at least! You still can’t believe how lucky you are, with so many loving monster girls as a family around you.

You pull in to the driveway, and you catch a glimpse of Dakota watching out the window, like she was just waiting for you to arrive. You chuckle as you head to the door, and you’re unsurprised when she’s waiting for you when you walk in. Her eyes are bright, as is her smile, as she greets you home.

“You’re home! Soooo….”

You laugh. “Yes, we’re going out tonight, Dakota.”

She claps her hands excitedly. “Woo! What should I wear? Where are we going?”

You shake your head. “It’s a surprise. But dress casually, I know you’re not big on fancy stuff.”

Dakota grins. “True! I’ll go change, then.”

The blue haired woman kisses you on the cheek, and dashes off to the bedroom to change. You chuckle to yourself, and head into the living room to greet the rest of the girls. You figure you should at least say hello before Dakota drags you out the door!
