Back on the boat

As expected, preparations finish around noontime, and after a meal, the crew boards the ship. Last to board are you and your girls, now including Melora. Captain Ben assists her up the ramp, earning a smile and soft thanks.

He smiles back at the blindfolded seer. “Where would ye be havin us to stow your things, miss Melora?”

She blushes slightly. “I’ll be staying with Nicholas, so wherever his things are will be fine.”

Captain Ben chuckles, looking at you. “Well then. Aren’t ye a popular lad!”

You shrug. “I certainly can’t complain.”

Beside you, Alex giggles. “We really should soundproof that cabin. I have plans to keep things entertaining on the trip!”

You roll your eyes. “Alex, you know this isn’t a pleasure cruise, right?”

The efreet winks at you. “Doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun, right? Besides, poor Melora needs to make up for all the fun she missed!”

Melora stifles a laugh, covering he mouth with her fingers. Ferra speaks up as well. “It’s true, Nicholas. There are many pleasurable experiences we could share with her. Presuming that she is interested, of course.”

Ferra looks questioningly at Melora, who is now blushing fiercely. She simply nods in response, and Ferra looks back to you. “There we have it. She seems interested. It will be a pleasant way to pass the time before our encounters.”

Captain Ben chuckles. “It seems like ye’ll have your hands full, lad! Best be keepin these ladies happy.”

You shake your head, smiling. “Worry about your job, Captain. I think I have this under control. Mostly.”

Ben laughs. “Aye, will do. We’ll set off then!”

He turns to the crew, who are ready and awaiting orders. “Let’s go, lads! Cast off and set sail!”

He receives a shout of ‘Aye Captain!’ in response, and soon the ship begins to pull away from the dock. Before you head up to get Melora settled in, you turn back to Ben.

“Melora will be using her powers to guide us towards our targets. With any luck we’ll see action within a day or two.”

Captain Ben nods. “Aye, we be awaiting your command. Go handle yer business for now.”

He winks and turns away, and you chuckle as you lead the girls towards the cabin.
