Azur is killed

You lay in your bed crying; you have been locked in a tower since the age of 10 and now 10 years later your mother had arranged someone to marry you. This would be good news; you would be able to leave the tower and eventually rule the kingdom by his side. However, Ahoshta had a reputation for being ugly and cruel. He was also well into his 40s over twice your age.

On top of this, the dragon guarding your tower had been killed by hired mercenaries sent by Ahoshta but paid for by your mother. The dragon had been kind and friendly. Her lavender scales were now painted dark red with her own blood as her decapitated body lay in the courtyard and her cute face had been mounted to a pike outside the gate. This was meant to show that Ahoshta was worthy and you had been claimed, but it just brought more tears to your blue eyes.

You move the frizzy red hair from your face. You have to get away. Azur (the dragon) had been kind but never let her leave and the door to her tower was still locked but you had to try. You look in your bedside drawer and found a box of hairpins. You go through so many trying to keep your frizzy hair at bay. You let it flow loose now as you marched down the stairs.

It took many tries and about 15 hairpins to pick the lock. Next, You packed a bag of clothes and food and tied a rolled-up duvet to the top of the bag. You stop in the courtyard to say one last goodbye to Azur and to stuff some blood-stained gold and gems into a coin purse. You wear a black dress in morning for your friend and strapped a dagger to your belt. Daring not to look back so as to not see the head of your dead friend you leave the castle.
